(August. 2003)-The compilation "Keep it Real" exhibits several unique new artists from CT determined to leave their distinct mark on this unmarked territory. The first copies being released are four singles titled: Keep it Real, Gas up the Ride, No One Nite Stand, Hold On and the reggae riff "Fret". These singles feature R&B artists Michelle, MisDumeng and Norman Thomas as well as rappers T-Raw, JaSpeed, Big Nugz and Omeil. Each single display the individual sounds of each artist brings such as the upbeat contemporary title track, "Keep it Real" to the inspirational, gospel-influenced track, "Hold On".
The "Keep it Real" compilation album is a joint venture between two promising Connecticut entertainment companies, LaSmouve Records, Inc. and Terrelongé Recordings. The productions was done by LaSmouve Productions Inc., a veteran of this business while the marketing is being handled by Terrelongé Recordings, fresh faces on the music scene. Through this effort these two companies hope to demonstrate that Connecticut has some extraordinary talent that is ready to bring their unique flavor to the urban hip-hop scene. Distribution is being handle by Galgano Records Inc.
