notes

Singer, songwriter, arranger, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, LARRY HUNTER has been working professionally in the music business for over twenty-five years. At eight years old, he passed an audition for church choir that was to direct his life from that point on.

The choir was directed by father Angelo Dellapica from Italy. While in Italy, father Angelo was named the director of the Vatican choir, due to his extensive knowledge of sacred music.

During his six years in this well-known choir, mr. Hunter began his early experience in music recording and television performances, performing with the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, backed by the incredible sound of the historic st. Francis de Sales 6,000 pipe organ.

By his early teens, he had picked up the guitar and the bass. He used his natural talents for harmony and musical arrangements to develop modern musical ensembles outside of the church.

As an adult, Larry moved to California, and settled in San Francisco. He built a reputation that had him working with several well-known performers both on stage and in the studio. At this point, he made the move to go out on his own. He and his song-writing partner formed a precisely arranged and rehearsed unit called HEROES. There is still talk of that band in Northern California.

Over the years, mr. Hunter has performed with Floyd (hey bartender) Dixon, Sylvester, Merl Saunders, the Robert Hunter band, Moby Grape, and the Jerry Miller band. He has also shared stages with the New Riders, Jesse Colin Young, Stoneground, Elvin Bishop, Mickey Thomas, Bob Weir and Kingfish, and Jan Hammer at some of the best venues from
the San Francisco Bay (the famed Keystone clubs) to
New York city (the Bottom Line).

Larry Hunter is living on Long Island with his wife and daughter. He has recently produced a cd for singer-songwriter Wayne Galler titled, "Through the Light of it All." He is now releasing his first cd entitled "Cabin Fever."
On this album, Larry takes the listener on a journey
through the Heartland of America. From the settlers in
covered wagons crossing the continent (PRAIRIE SONG),
to a 19th century love song of two lonely people out west
(EYES OF TOURMALINE), through the Mississippi Delta in the
first half of the 20th century (the Delta), to his hopes
and dreams for the future (DIFFERENT WORLD),then some modern
electric blues (HONEYMAN),hot Texas swing (LTD HONEY), and
closing with a dedicated, heart-felt love song to his Wife
(EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL IS YOU),you can feel the honesty and
emotions of real feelings from a song writer who is baring
his soul through his art.

Simply put....I love to listen to this album. Like many of Hunter's songs, Follow My Heart speaks to me in a way I can't quite describe. There's a sweetness, too, in his ballads that is so appealing...can't wait to see what he does next...
