notes
What they say about the duo...
"Lara can belt out a song, purr through a ballad, knock you out with her sensuality and make you want to get up and dance." (Richard Kamins,Hartford Courant)
".. the proof is in the performance. Price's vocal instrument is as strong as it is sensual, confident in covering the breadth of material in her songbook." (Jeff Kaliss San Francisco Chronicle)
"Laura Chavez plays the blues with such age defying tact, knowledge and finesse it's almost scary. And she is unassuming and shy off stage and on. You look at her and you can't believe these glorious sounds are coming from her fingers. She'd be worth the price of admission alone." (Brad Kava, San Jose Mercury News)
"Lara Price Band with 22year old phenom Laura Chavez on guitar; they sound, amazingly, like Janis Joplin backed by Albert Collins. I hope they don't end up on the "Best Bands That Never Made It" list." (Brad Kava, San Jose Mercury News)
Lara and Laura have currently been entertaining fans with a full band (The Lara Price Band) racking up great reviews from Connecticut to San Francisco. To add a different flavor to their already vast repertoire, the female duo take an acoustic adventure covering a range of songs by Etta James, Radio Head and their own creations. In a short time the 2 created a must see bluesy, rockin', sultry night of great music.

Love it
author: John ConnorsI purchased this one last year for my personal collection and just love it. A great duo!
Awesome, as always!
author: BorisThe Lara and Laura duo does it again!!! I have been playing this CD in the CAR for the last week and JUST LOVING IT!
The Blues
author: JakeThese unplugged acoustic blues ring true. Lara has the voice of the blues, and Laura's guitar lets it get in deep. I might have preferred just a little rougher guitar. A couple with Blue souls, if you have one you'll love it.
Unplugged At Its Best
author: JR WolfeLara sings her heart out,Laura plays her acoustic guitar with taste. Looking forward to a sequel NOW!
THE MAGIC
author: Thierry GUGGENHEIMIt's rare (regarding acoustic blues) to be hooked by the music during a whole CD listening. Thank you Lara and Laura to deliver such a powerful music. It's a shame these great blues women are not everywhere in the world on music magazines. I bought a few month ago "Faces of the blues" and "I got news" as i am more electric blues oriented. But these 2 CD's are so good that i wanted to listen to the acoustic one.I don't regret it!
Two fine talents = one excellent CD.
author: Steve LyallIts all been said here already! Just a fusion of two fine talents producing a recording full of feeling and emotion.
LOVE the CD! You two are an inspiration.
author: TaraThis CD is awesome! I liked hearing such a mellow version of Laura & Lara's talents. Kudos on the originals too.
This is the best unplugged CD beside Eric Clapton
author: Ott Sathngam the Blues loverI listen 1000s and play many blues including accoustic and electric. I am very impress with the Lara Price vocal and Blues Rock lick of Laura. Both are at best of what they do. I introduce them to all other blues lover that I came across. Thank you so much for keeping blues very juicy.
Best blues I've heard in many years. Wondrful!
author: MikeI recommend this CD without reservation. It has a great selection of songs, and Lara Price's singing is so real, soulful and intense that she just pulls you into the song with her. Laura Chavez is a phenomenal guitarist, and her playing on this CD is flawless. Real blues for real people.
