notes

The members of La Pestilencia reside in Los Angeles, California. Their music mixes different musical genres, though their principal influences are psychodelic punk and rock. They have taken these genres and developed a new contagious sound, which is accompanied by the simultaneous display of bizarre images that enhance the exceptionality of this innovative and dynamic band.

La Pestilencia is more than a band; it is a family. All the experiences they have gone through have brought them together to work towards the same common goals.

The band was formed in Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia. Their first album: Death, a Compromise of Everybody, catapulted the band to icon status in their country. In Latin America, La Pestilencia is known as one of the most important bands of the hardcore genre.

Radio exposure, participation in important shows, such as opening for Metallica (100.000 people), and festivals, such as Rock al Parque (where there were around 200.000 spectators) helped the band reach a high number of fans and proved this is a band with enormous potential to keep growing.

The next three albums: “The New Adventures of la Pestilencia”, "El Amarillista" and “Ballistic”, have been even more successful. The last one stayed on top of the popularity charts in the most important rock station in Colombia (Radio Activa), for two months. It also did extremely well in Mexico, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Ecuador and the rest of Latin America.

“Balistica” was recorded at the Indigo Ranch, in Malibu, California. It was produced by Richard Kaplan and distributed under the Mercury label.

La Pestilencia signed with EMI/Capitol Music and released the album "Productos Desaparecidos" in December 2005, which was mixed by Mark Nedham. - -
