notes
It's very rare you find an artist who has the ability to navigate through various styles and genres of music without ever truely losing the inner "soul" that fuels the fire within. Ladies and gentlemen, Lamone is one of those artist.
This debut CD from Lamone, which is perfectly entitled "Eclectically Speaking", is just that. An eclectic mesh of R&B, Soul, Pop, Rock, Dance, Urban, and Smooth Jazz all on one project which amazingly, works very well.
Never a follower, always a leader, this "SOULJA" of music and art blazes his own trail.
Lamone made his introduction to the music scene as a guest vocalist for Smooth Jazz saxaphonist, Najee, on his 2005 CD entitiled "My Point of View" with the beautifully sung "Falling In Love With You". His performance and vocal range shows how far he has moved across the musical spectrum. From his agile tenor vocals to his falsetto-laced riffs, he produces a series of brilliant sounds that are beautifully complemented by the music you hear.
From 2005 to 2007 Lamone has traveled abroad with Smooth Jazz Pioneer Najee, as his guest vocalist, wowing audiences every step of the way.

This CD will NEVER get played out!
author: Aileen A."Eclectically Speaking" by Lamone is most definitely one of the BEST CDs I have ever purchased... and I'm not just saying that either! It's pretty rare when I actually like an entire cd... and THIS is one of those rare moments. All 15 songs are outstanding. My personal favorites are "Chillz," "Your Eyes," "(For You) I'll Go There," "Just Tell Me," and "You Should Be Mine." However, ALL the songs are seriously really good! And I'm slowly starting to know all the words so it makes it even more fun to sing-a-long! Ever since I first got the cd on 11/30/07... that has been the only cd I have been listening to... FOR REALLY REAL! I just gave my sisters (all 3 of them) their own copy for X'mas and they are feelin' it, too! Lamone's vocal range and style is definitely not ordinary. His voice is so silky smooth. His music offers a little somethin' somethin' for everyone and it really gets you grooving! So come on people, if you're reading this review... don't only take my word for it... BUY THE CD and find out for yourself 'cuz it really is, "HOT. HOTTTT. HOT LIKE FIRE!" and it will surely give you "CHILLZ!" YOU WON'T REGRET IT NOT ONE BIT! I have waited for this cd to come out for 2 years and the wait is worth it. You will make one of the best purchases in music you've ever made! Whip out that credit card peeps and buy your copy of "Eclectically Speaking" (and hey, Valentine's Day is just around the corner... it'll make a great gift for your sweetie) RIGHT NOW and "get your groove on..." I'm back... it's 12/29 at 12:08 a.m. and I'm still jammin' to "Eclectically Speaking" as we speak. I had to come back and write a little more 'cuz I can't get enough of Lamone's music. So here goes... his version of "Foolish Heart," in my opinion, far surpasses the original version... I keep hitting the rewind button on that one as well. "You've Got the Love" is so funky fresh you'll be gettin' that head boppin' goin' on while you listen... and "Disgusted" well... it's SICK and I'm not even a rock kind of person! I can go on-and-on, but this review will end up being a novel, so I'll try to end it with this: If you want to hear music from an exceptionally gifted and talented man... then "Eclectically Speaking" by Lamone is where you're going to hear it. As you keep listening to his music, you'll continue to realize just how GREAT he is and how his music offers variety so that everyone can enjoy it! When you get your copy, you'll see just what I'm talkin' about... I can't wait 'til his NEXT cd releases! Ha ha!

From the time I left wher I was, till the time I arrived home one hour and forty five minutes later, I never stopped playing it! "Eclectically Speaking" is a perfect title for this great work of art! Not to many artist are able to take (true) R&B, Soul, Pop, Rock, Dance, Urban and Jazz and put them on one project and make it work. YOU DID! It's meshed amazingly well! Not many CD's containing more than 12 track these days are able to maintain my attention for any length of time. I usually find myself pressing the skip button for tracks I'll like. Not here!
