notes

Laleh, Persian for "tulip", began at the young age of six to play the piano and violin. Her mother, born in Iran, was forbidden to express herself musically due to the rigid religious influences of the country, so she encouraged Laleh's musical expression. By the age of eight, Laleh was performing in concerts and winning local beauty pageants. She then attended Virginia Tech University where she joined a traveling music act, "The New Virginians". Laleh performed all over the East Coast while completing a degree in Industrial Engineering and Music! Her love for singing and performing for an audience grew so immense that she knew what her goal in life would be. After her four years at Virginia Tech were complete, she hitched a ride to New York.

Upon her arrival, Laleh received a dance scholarship at Broadway Dance Center and began her career in the Entertainment Industry. Soon thereafter, Laleh received national attention as the choreographer, instructor, and co-host of the "MTV Grind Hip-Hop/ Workout Video" in which she co-starred with Eric Neis. The video sold over 750,000 copies and Laleh received extremely favorable reviews.

It was here in New York where Laleh was discovered by and began touring extensively with dance industry giant Hex Hector. Hex Hector, the Grammy award-winning producer and DJ, was immediately captivated by her voice and her positive attitude. They wrote and released "Captured," produced by Hex and Dezrok. "Captured" is a passionate dance track, featured on the "Louie DeVito Dance Party" album. She has also worked with other renowned producers, such as Jonathan Peters, Eddie Baez, and the Passengerz. Currently, she is ready to release her new single entitled "Make Love Easy."

Laleh's Persian decent has influenced her music with a sensual sound and a dynamic ability to excite and inspire any audience. She was a featured new artist at the Roxy for the Billboard Music Conference in October, and has also played Webster Hall, Discotheque, and Float in NYC. Most recently, Laleh performed a concert for 12,000 people at a peace rally in front of the United Nations.

From the White House and United Nations, to the Gay Pride Events in New York and Toronto alongside Ultra Nate... Laleh brings love and diversity to her audiences wherever she goes. Laleh's heart, passion and extraordinary musical talent are making a strong mark throughout the music industry, and generating a growing following to her sultry melodic sounds.
