notes
Immerse yourself in the divine love of the sacred names. Jaya Lakshmi's singing is filled with true heart and passionate devotion. Her blissful blend of Sanskrit chant, harmonium, flamenco guitar, sarod and ambient grooves will comfort your heart and free your soul.
Jaya Lakshmi is co-founder and lead singer of the acclaimed world techno-dance band, Lost At Lost. In recent years, she has been performing with Deva Priyo (on flamenco guitar and sarod) to packed audiences. Lakshmi has established herself as a major presence in today's new devotional chant scene. This inspiring mantra chanting is unsurpassed for yoga, healing and meditation.
"Jaya Lakshmi's singing is absolutely phenomenal. The passion and grace in her voice really stirs the soul. Her music combines the best of both traditional yoga-chant and modern down-tempo grooves into an entirely fresh new sound. The beauty in her music is completely absorbing, and inspiring!" - David & Steve Gordon

I give this CD the highest rating I have!
author: Karen Newton - Innerchange MagazineTurn up the volume. That’s what I did as soon as the first track began. Not the expected response when listening to Sanskrit chants. This is the most wonderful production of chanting I ever heard. This CD is alive with passion, a powerful celebration of life, love and the Universe. It is hard to sit still while listening to this music. Ocean of Mercy takes Sanskrit chanting and blends it with gypsy guitar, tabla and sarod to create an upbeat devotion to life. Other instruments on the CD are synthesizer, harmonium, dobro, ektar and berimbau. I find it difficult to stop listening to this CD. This is one to just leave in the CD player for a while. The printed insert has the words and chants printed for all eight tracks. Even without reading the words, I found myself singing along. I give this CD the highest rating I have!
decent
author: kailouDecent album. 3.5-4.0 stars. Musically its ambiant nature sets a nice meditative state. Lyrically its a bust - not sure how many different tonal variations of 'Hare Krisna' one can achieve, but she seems to be determined to discover that threshold.
Unique and refreshing!
author: RaganiThis album is worth getting for the Tulasi Maharani and Nitai Gauianga songs alone. Good classic chord progressions with Lakshmi's alluring vocals. Love the rich instrumentals--nicely done!
