One morning when I was staying at a hotel in TEXAS, I was delighted to see a bright, new-looking U.S. flag flying outside my window, along with a Texas flag. But when I looked for them that night they were gone. At first I was disappointed, but then I remembered my childhood, and how we used to treat flags with such respect ...raising them in the morning, and putting them away at night. It really touched me to see this respect still being paid in the Lone Star state. Then and there I decided that in a spiritual sense, I was going to declare myself a TEXAN! This song is also a tribute to President George W. Bush.
The second track, Liberty, affirms the continuing value of immigration to our country. As long as America remains true to her founding values, she will be a beacon for those who long to live free, and who are willing to take on the responsiblities that freedom requires.
