notes
The 'magic garbage can' CD is a milestone for Elly Parker and Ric Lafontaine. Both singer/songwriters were inspired by their combined family of 7 children, and 3 grand children. In the tradition of 'the Fables of La Fontaine,' the album is filled with colorful characters faced with some of life's challenges. Like Ric and Elly, the songs celebrate life in a magical way.

About Ric Lafontaine...
Ric is a driving force in the music scene on Vancouver Island. He co-founded Island Showcase and Nanaimo Songwriters Circle.
Ric's first cd 'the Wind Gone Mad,' reflects the free and independent spirit of this west coast singer/song-scaper. Reminiscent of Cat Stevens, his music paints pictures of faeries dancing on water and eagles soaring on one wing.
He is currently working on a compilation series of cds featuring island songwriters.
About Elly Parker...
Elly Parker has a natural talent for reaching into your soul and singing your song. Her love of family and zest for life is more than apparent in her songwriting.
Elly's self-titled cd offers the listener an amazing palette of musical stylings from blues, jazz, and gospel to hints of folk, country, and celtic. Served up on one hot compact disc that only this woman can spin. Her radiant smile, playful nature, and sense of humor, has brought her audiences from Sheffield, England to New Orleans, Louisiana. Her powerful voice has been heard in night clubs, festivals and theatre productions.Elly is currently working on her second album entitled "Lavender Blue."

Your collaborative children's CD is truly MAGIC!
author: Bev GordonYour collaborative children's CD is truly MAGIC! I wish it was widely available, so children could enjoy their childhoods again in innocence and wonder. The families who can hear and buy a copy are indeed lucky. I can't say enough good things about it, except I want two more copies for the children of a niece and a nephew.

"Magic Garbage Can" has been my children's first choice
author: Carolyn ThompsonEver since we saw you in Chemainus Dec.15, "Magic Garbage Can" has been my children's first choice when playing music! They love it-Amanda knows all the words! Your music has a special appeal to young and old(like me). We wish you success and we'll be first in line to buy your next cd. Carolyn Thompson
We love that new CD. Its fantastic - start to finish.
author: Peter HarrisWe love that new CD. Its fantastic - start to finish. Ally is particulary partial to 'Dr. Muffin', the elephant song and 'Peggy's on the Go'. I love the 'grumpies' and most of all the rain song. The messages are clear and fun without preaching. Ally is going to be psyched for next live performance - let us know about any dates. Take care. Peter
