YOU WILL LOVE THIS LADYFEST EAST CD COMPILATION!
New York, NY - the first "Ladyfest East" compilation was released by 28 Days Records. The compilation is in support of Ladyfest, a non-profit community dedicated to supporting and promoting the artistic talents and activism of women. The two CD compilation features an eclectic mix of female musicians of east coast origin. Tracks include singles from many indie girl rock and pop bands as well as experimental electronic pieces and spoken word.
The Ladyfest collective is a growing community of women that began with an event in Olympia, Washington and is now sprouting roots in New York, Scotland, Chicago and Indiana. The Olympia show featured indie favorites Sleater Kinney, The Butchies, Bratmobile, Cat Power, Sarah Dougher, Nicole Blackman and Penny Arcade and drew over 2,000 fans.
Ladyfest's east coast sister, Ladyfest East, began in December 2001 and it functions as an east coast version of the original Ladyfest. Like the original Ladyfest, all of its members donate their work. The web site (http://www.ladyfesteast.org) acts as control center where one can become a participant and read and post their activities and ideas.

ROCKS
author: Nicole SealsThe whole CD was full of great powerful and fun music. Perfect for any mood. My 1st grader, Keely thinks it is the bomb and better than the 'mtv stuff'. I think that sums it up perfectly.
