notes

And this is my life...

Born underdeveloped resulting in legal blindness, Lachi grew up a bit of a social faux pas as her first generation nigerian family bounced back and forth from urban life and suburbia. Learning to play the piano before she could read or write, Lachi's been writing songs since age four and now has over 300 songs written and kept in a folder.

"I do not hold myself to one genre and I find myself discovering music and composing poetry that resonates with my soul, generating a serious yet peaceful feel.

Being a blind musician holds a plethora of advantages, from the ability to see nothing but music. Lack of vision allows for an augmentation in the ability of the other senses including an increase in the ability to feel....to feel music."

What will happen, will happen.
What will happen,....will.
What will happen?
What?

Which words come first?
Those of love? Those of hate?
Which is worse?

This CD is off the hook!!! The artist is so passionate when she sings. You really can feel her pain, her joy, or her struggle. It's mos. definitely on my "Greatest Albums list." I recommend it to each and everybody out there. Joy aka JA4REAL

  • This CD has got that something

There are some CDs that just have tracks that you play over and over and over until you know every single ounce of every word. There are some CDs that just have tracks you listen to repeatedly, then pause when the phone rings so you want miss a beat. There are some CDs that have tracks that are so deep and touching, you just become one with it. This Cd has got that something.

I kept trying to figure it out...is it JAZZ? NO! is it BLUES? NO! Then it came to me...It is LACHI!! A unique style of music, smooth, jazzy, silky and combined with a sultry voice. Since my friend introduced me to your music, I have not stopped listening to the CD. It is playing on my iPod as I type. You have a new fan....forever!!! Alex B

  • Touching

The tunes are deep, emotional, almost haunting in their style. Her voice scales all ranges beautifully. Yet the most inspiring aspect is the blend of these two skills into one magnificent opus. Jazz is a dying art - and good jazz is almost extinct. This CD has given new hope for the genre.
