I'm a self taught guitarist, an old Rock 'n' Roller, born in 1952. I started playing at the age of nine... about the same time that Elvis was beginning to fade and the Beatles were starting to storm America. It wasn't until the late 1970's that I began to learn the art of fingerpicking, what I call "fingerstyle guitar"... I've stuck with it ever since. I currently spend my time performing at local restaurants and clubs in the St. Augustine, Florida area. More information on this CD and myself can be found on my webpage.
This is a collection of Jazz Standards I've arranged for fingerstyle guitar. The recording was made in the Spring of 2004 with an La Patrie "Presentation" classical guitar through 2 Rode NT3 microphones into a DAT recorder. For digital editing and mastering my choices were Cool Edit and CD Architect. I hope you enjoy listening to this CD as much as I have enjoyed creating it... RK

Kuncicky's arrangements are refreshing and stick to the point of the original co
author: peter van weerdenburgGot the two cd's by Richard Kuncicky a few days ago and already his versions of standards are blowing new life into my own renditions. He combines classical and fingerpicking styles on his interpretations of jazz classics. Being a Joe Pass fan it's sometimes nice to hear interpretations that stay closer to the originals, harmonically speaking. I Recommend these cd's to anyone who likes fingerpicking or is just starting out on solo jazz guitar playing because the arrangements are fairly easy to follow. His patrie guitars also sound great and are, surprisingly, really affordable instruments.
