Xlnt recording, good chops, nice original songs, great percussion!
author: RockAfrika, West Los AngelesWe've been fans of this awesome group for years and have also been impressed at the longevity of its membership. This makes for a very good and consistent sound due to the band's low turnover. If you want to enjoy some songs that are outside the usual top-40 Shona repertoire, this disc is a real treat. Yadoloh, Joe Song, Rugare I and Shauriako are numbers that you simply won't hear anywhere else. Earlier members Brice (percussion) and Susan (marimba and hosho) are not mentioned on the site, but they both made a great contribution to the CD when it was recorded. We also like the use of buttery-sounding congas on the CD, instead of the djembe's sharp rings that are far too often included in Shona music. We're hoping the band will come to LA one of these days!
