notes
My musical history began with piano lessons. I took lessons on and off from my mother. In grade school I began playing percussion. In high school I became more interested in mallet percussion, and played in the All-State Band as a junior. I began composing as a senior, doing an advanced studioes course in which I wrote a piece for concert band and conducted it in a concert. By the time I graduated I had written a handful of pieces for band and orchestra, as well as a few electronic songs. I went on to Iowa State University where I became more and more interested in electronic music, eventually all but abandoning acoustic music, except for the occasional request. I graduated in 1998 with a BA in Music.
Since then, I have again become more interested in acoustic music, and my next attempts will be at something rather like current film music, a blend of modern electronic and dance music with the traditional orchestral sounds. I believe that this is where the future of quality music lies.
I play percussion, keyboard, and a very small amount of guitar. My favorite instrument is the marimba. All of my music is synthesized into a computer, perfected, then recorded into audio format.
"From the Attic Window" is my first album, whose songs were written between 1994 and 1998.
