I'm just a meandering 20 something with a hobby for music production. This is what I enjoy doing. I do this for me. All of my music is freely downloadable. If you like it, please consider making a donation (via paypal to kevin@kmotiv.com). Or, if you wish, you can also purchase songs from itunes or buy a physical cd here on cdbaby...
When I'm finished with a song I'll upload it to kmotiv.com. My newest material will show in the 'Heradas' section. It's a virtual album of sorts. Enjoy

music of the future, and I'm listening
author: @ Blairlisten to it, whats ten bucks between a gallon of petrol? the funny thing is that when this dude gets big (rightfully deserved) you'll be the one saying you listened to this kinda stuff a minute ago. shoot!
A truely incredible experience
author: Guy BlueSummersSmooth, some downtempo, some beats. Mellow; and safe with most medications. I listen to Kmotiv when my day's are good, and when my days are bad, and when my days have sunshine. What a wonderful disk!
Very Good CD
author: clifton websterThis is a great cd, very chill but hard enough to keep you bobbin' ya head. It is different in that it is not to hot and not to cold, you can listen to it no matter what you are in the mood for. Great job.
The album is short, sweet and almost perfectly formed.
author: luna kafeI really, really like this. In style it falls somewhere between melodic electronica and instrumental hip-hop, two genres where it's really difficult to produce something that's both original and listenable. And with the abstraction agenda kmotiv has done it. Being a guitarist myself it's always reassuring to hear a good guitar sound, and here we find not only a pretty electric tone on "emergence", but also excellent acoustic guitar melodies leading my favourite track "something on the wing", and centerpiece "five after one". Elsewhere the choices of drums and synth sounds are absolutely on the money, lending everything a satisfyingly polished feel. Reminiscent in parts to Four Tet - yes, that good - this has been my favourite surprise of the year: an album that promised little but delivered in spades.
The perfect soundtrack for your late night chill out room
author: wet works e-zineThe perfect soundtrack for your late night chill out room, Kmotiv's "The Abstraction Agenda" relaxes the mind and mellows the soul, but never forgets to move the body. For a self-released CD the production is surprisingly crisp and clear, obvious evidence that Mr. Kelsey has a tight grip on his production skills. Recommended to those that like emotive IDM/Downtempo with Hip-Hop flavor.
Almost mesmerizing at times and graceful in feel
author: tvtranzmissionThis cd is filled with more of a upbeat ambient style, laced with semi-hard to passive bass line’s, layered in melodic soundscapes of a basic nature but they fill each track very well. Not busy with a lot nuance sounds or repeat samples, which I believe, helps KMOTIV to relay a message of emotion and sincerity. Almost mesmerizing at times and graceful in feel “The Abstraction Agenda” has a sound that should not be genre typed.
Nice flow...
author: cdarmy.comThis is one we pop in the offices when we need the crew to chill and get their groove on.... Nice cd.. Great buy!
If you're looking for something a bit chilled
author: Queep Organic MusicWe cant stress it enough, this album, in full, is well worth purchasing. If you are looking for something a bit chilled, thats clever, has feeling, and raw sounds, this is the one for you. Lets hope there is much more to come from this young talented producer.
Outstanding and awsome
author: polar1How can this be a debut effort? This is an amazing piece of work for such a talented young guy. I don't even like hip-hop all that much, but this blends enough ambient and cool electronica into the mix that I am deeply hooked. Not a quasi-trip hop attempt, this disc really has a great vibe to it that needs to be listened to. Well written grooves, catchy melodies, and tight beats - it's One of the best surprises I've discovered here. I'll be looking for more in the future. Highest recommendation.
