Kim and Jerry Brodey have been singing and using their music with school-aged children since 1979. As dynamic workshop leaders they have sparked the imaginations of many North American teachers who are searching for new ways to enrich the lives of their students. Kim and Jerry's passion for building community and creating inclusive learning environments for children led them to this work.
Together their range of accomplishments includes eight recordings, five touring stage productions, two video/films, numerous guest recordings, a wide range of supplementary teaching materials and many appearances on television and radio across the country.
Their work has also been nominated for two Junos (1986's Family Pie and 1996's Like a Ripple on the Water) and a Parents Choice Award (1986's Family Pie). They have received a 1983 American Library Notable Recording Award and an Action For Children's Television Award for Responsible Programming.
Jerry Brodey is a founder of Community Builders, a not-for-profit organization committed to "empowering young people, teachers and parents to be leaders in building safe and inclusive school communities." www.cbyouthleadership.org. Community Builders is the recipient of a Canadian Race Relations Foundation Award of Distinction.
KIM BRODEY is also an authorized Continuum‘ Movement teacher leading Continuum‘ Movement workshops in Europe and North America.
Kim and Jerry are married, with a blended family.
