That era is alive and well, living in the person of Kitt Lough, an inspiring new voice on the jazz scene. Melding sultry, velvety vocals with a beguiling appearance, Kitt creates a romantic experience that transports the listener to an age when glamour, rhythm and romance ruled the day.     Kitt Lough sings some of the songs many of us know by heart, but in a way that is her own unique style -- sexy, sultry, playful and funny, they cover a range. Her rendition of Boulevard of Broken Dreams is the best version I've ever heard. She shows a playful sid ein Orange Colored Sky and in Honeysuckle Rose. This one gets a lot of play, I love it.

    I have to say this is one of the best jazz vocal CDs I've heard in ages. A fresh new voice on the scene, worthy of attention, delightful to hear over and over. And the arrangements are original and exciting. I'm confounded by the single lukewarm review by Ms. Keys, who felt compelled to post twice. I can only conclude a case of sour grapes, green with envy. Yawn? Hardly!

    Ever since I saw her performance on the Pensacola Jazz-Fest in 2004 I was looking around to get this CD. Now, 2006, I finally found it on CD Baby. And I have to say that her voice sounds even better than I had remembered it. I just love to compare her versions of those standard songs to those of Ms. Krall - different interpretations, shure, but each one incredibly cool, soothing and sexy - my kind of Jazz.... greetings from Germany!

    I never heard of Kitt Lough until I came across her browsing jazz vocalists at CD Baby. I bought 8-10 CD's and this one is at the top of the list for repeat plays. It has a prominent position on my iPod.

    But, there isn't anything about the performance of them that sets Kitt Lough apart from anybody else. Her voice is pleasant enough, but pleasant is for hotel singers. The CD is nice, but regrettably forgettable. Yawn.

    The first time I heard Kitt Lough's voice on the radio, I had to pull my car over and stop (in rush hour traffic no less!)to catch my breath. The CD is non-stop de-lovely, de-lightful and de-licious, better buy 2 because you'll wear the first one out!

    This is a very tasty CD. Excellent choice of Standards sung perfectly by Kitt, with great arrangements and piano by Dan Sarafini. This cd would be the perfect introduction to great vocal jazz for someone new to this genre. I highly recommend it!!

    From the first chords of Honeysuckle Rose I knew I was in for quite a ride and I was not disappointed. This girl has everything covered -looks, voice projection and SWINGS. It has not been out of my CD player since it arrived. One slight beef which otherwise I would have awarded it 5 stars is the very short playing time(41 minutes) I look forward to her next recording hopefully in the not to distant future

    With the plethora of female jazz vocal albums on the market today, it can be easy for an artist to get muffled in the shuffle. Kitt has one important advantage- she's got that voice that can carry an entire album, a delivery that cuts through all the cummulative build-up of other similar artists- but not with showiness, not with a loud "ta-da!" This woman subtlely but sensuously carries these songs in her blood and when she opens her mouth, there's no separation between her life story and the song, between her breath and the melody, her personality and the emotion. With the versatility to range in style from Harry Connick Jr. to Julie London, this woman's rise on the national jazz charts won't surprise me in the least.     This cd is one of the best jazz cd's I've heard in a long time. I enjoy listening to the Kitt's Spirit come through on the song Orange Colored Sky- She is sure to head for the Newport Jazz Greats! Best of Luck and Continued Success!
