BRIAN KING
A native of Sacramento, California, Brian King is a gifted saxophonist with a jazzy yet soulful contemporary style. His passion for music began in grade school. The first instrument he played was the trumpet; he then moved on to the diversity and range the saxophone offers. Brian decided to focus on his musical gifts and continued his formal music and theory training at a local college. Soon after, Brian began playing professionally and touring with several bands across California. In 1994, Brian was a semifmalist in a national competition to select a saxophonist to play on John Tesh's album. As a result, Brian performed for John Tesh at Harrah's Lake Tahoe as a finalist.
Encouraged by those closest to him as well as his ever growing fan base, Brian decided it was time to grow his independent record label "A King's Dream" in 1998. It would not take long for Brian King to become a sought after musician fulfilling several requests for cameo appearances on albums such as NBA star Wayman Tisdale's album as well as Contemporary Christian artist, Tracy Lewis album. It did not take long for Brian King to live his dream and produce his first album appropriately titled "A King's Dream" which was released in 2000 and sold well over 5,000 copies across the United States without any major advertising or marketing. This was just the beginning of what would prove to be a highly sought after sound - Brian King's style and diversity as a saxophonist.
Brian King's love for his family and everlasting dedication to his dream inspires him to produce quality music that contemporary jazz enthusiast across the world continue to enjoy. In 2007, Brian King began collaborating with Platinum Houze Studios to produce his sophomore album Carribean Sunset. With arrangements like "Saxual Healing" and "Smooth Saxanator," Brian King has proven he can play in the big league and produce a major sound sure to move the masses in this ever changing modern world. Carribean Sunset is rhythm and jazz fused with a smooth yet funky compliment of sweet vocals and electrical instrument arrangements which create a modern sound; a sound that can easily crossover several markets.
Carribean Sunset will be initially released and distributed independently through Brian King's independent label, A King's Dream.
Brian King is a confident, yet careful business man. He is an artist who has already proven to himself he can live his dream, a King's dream, and now he wants to share his sound with the world.
Brian will be quickly dubbed Sacramento's Smooth Saxanator...

SmoothJazz.com Review
author: Sandy ShoreFrom Sacramento, California comes the Saxanator! Get ready for some sexy, jazzy, urban flavored, tropically treated Smooth Jazz on Brian King’s sophomore recording CARRIBEAN SUNSET. The saxophonist has been making impressive jazz inroads for some time… he’s played on a Wayman Tisdale album as well as on contemporary Christian artist, Tracy Lewis’ project. In 1998, he debuted his own independent recording label A King’s Dream and in 2000 released his first album of the same name and sold well over 5,000 copies in the U.S! For King’s fans CARRIBEAN SUNSET has been a highly anticipated wait… one that was well worth it! Sure to win over even more enthusiastic listeners, CARRIBEAN SUNSET showcases Brian as a top notch, world class saxophonist who offers up eloquent and smooth playing that rivals even the Smooth Jazz crème de la crème sax men and women. His effortless performances are captivating and strike the perfect balance between funky and smooth. The sign of a secure sax player is one who does not over play just because he/she can. Brian allows his music to breath and in turn his music grooves. I can’t say enough about the gentleman’s tone… it’s so solid. Think Boney James meets George Howard. Tunes like “Smooth Saxanator,” “Yes I Miss Your Lovin’” and “So In Love” are as inviting as those turquoise waters of the album’s namesake. I have big hopes for the Saxanator… he’ll be back!
