notes

New York native Kim Jones is a singer/songwriter based in Denver, Colorado. Jones' style has been described as folk rock with rich acoustic rhythms and melodic vocals supported by a rock groove.

A finalist in the 1998 Lilith Fair Talent Search, Jones is an accomplished teller of tales whose music is as rich melodically as it is lyrically enchanting. "I like telling stories through my music" says Jones "Whether it's about places I've been or people I've met or to share life's journeys, my music let's me speak from the heart in a way that is very personal to me. I believe my audience can relate to these songs because they are all real experiences that we all go through. It’s what makes us all human - these dreams and fears.”

A good example of Jones' storytelling is evident on many tracks of Road Dreams-especially "Journeymen" the true story of Jones' great grandparents immigration to New York's lower Eastside, and "Connecticut Towns"an ode to the Northwest corner where Jones spent her formative teenage years. "Connecticut Towns" is Jones' personal homage to a time and place that remains reassuringly constant in a world fraught with change. “I was back in Connecticut visiting my brother and sister when this song came clear to me” says Jones. “It was just so good to be back driving down these familiar country roads surrounded by giant trees, red barns, and quaint farms. With the wind in my hair and the sun playing off the dappled trees, I felt as I did as a teenager with the whole world stretched out in front of me.”

John Magnie of the Subdudes accompanied Jones on accordion and keyboards on most of the tracks of Road Dreams, along with other top flight musicians. The album was mixed and mastered by renowned studio engineer James Tuttle.

Kim Jones has two tracks fom Road Dreams (“Ride the Wave” and “Demons”) in rotation on one of Denver’s premier radio staions- 99.5 the Mountain. Jones headlined last summer at The Grazing America Festival in Colorado Springs and The Concert in The Park Series in Fort Morgan, CO. This past fall, Jones was one of the featured artists at The City Park Festival of the Arts and The Cameron Cafe Music Series. She will be performing live for the radio station99.5 The Mountain’s Mountain Homegrown Showcase- October 4th 2007 at The Soiled Dove Underground in Denver
