A Must Have CD!
author: Lex OlssenThis band reminds me of the best of Missing Persons, Primatives, Altered Images, Blondie, No Doubt, it seems to fit into a Rock/New Wave/Punk category. If you like any of the bands mentioned you will love Killola. By the CD for the best sound quality!
K))
author: Bjorn RuudAwesome. Some rough edges, but very, very good.
Louder, Louder
author: TomEvery track on this cd kicks ass! If the Dictators were born 20-years later, and Dick Manitoba were a chick, this band would be it. Lisa is Iggy with a WAY better bod!
Killola?
author: Mr.SlinkeyI am not at all into most of the music that is out today. Emo Sucks!!! And so does Goth music. This little band "Killola" aids in stopping the death of Rock and Roll. Emos beware. Killola rocks!

Best thing since sliced bread!
author: Kris10Absolutely LOVE this CD. Louder, LOUDER couldn't be a more perfect title since I find myself gradually turning it up while jamming to the different tracks. Every song is different and just as good as the next. With most CD's I tend to skip around. But with this one, I can let it play all the way through and be just as satisfied. "Hollow" and "Get Around" are my two favorites. You guys rock my socks! Keep it up!!! xoxoxoxo

author: Christyna McMahonThis cd has six of my favorite songs by Killola on it. The other two songs that aren't among my favorites still kick ass. I played this CD for my boyfriend, who'd never listened to Killola before, and he loved it. (He thinks your voice is awesome, Lisa!) Basically, Killola rocks. Listen to Killola. Listen to "Louder, LOUDER!". You will never regret it, ever. EVER. Love you, Killola!!
My life has changed...
author: SeanOfTheDead'I Don't Know Who' is one of the best songs I have ever heard. If you want to be happy, buy this CD. It is beyond fabulous.
Velvetty and fab !!!!
author: MicahThis album sounds like it fell from the pantheon of Detroit Rock City Gods...Velvetty and fabulous. The whole darn album is one gigantic addictive hook!!!!
if they play it in Hell, save me a seat
author: Kyle FeildWhat can one say about Killola that hasn't already been said again...and again...and again? As a piano player of almost 30 years and a whore of the New Orleans/Austin music scene, I can honestly tell you that very little so illuminating and ABSOLUTELY creative has come along since the pop/punk melodies of Siouxsie and the Banshees in the late 70s and 80s, or the end of the world as Michael Stipe gave us later. This band WILL define a future genre of music that will be imitated, but never matched. Blondie? Come on. Even Debbie Harry has to get the fuck out of THESE guys' ways. Do yourself a favor. Buy the CD. Buy the DVD. And do it now. Because if you don't, well, you're going to be a lonely wanker with your Britney Spears collection who'll never know the sweet smell of burning circuitry and cigarette smoke that DEFINE the gorgeous rose garden of sound....that is Killola.
OMG
- author: Megan
The CD is great. The songs are quite varied in style and I really like that. It shows the band has lots of talent!
This Sound Has Been A Long Time Coming
author: Ricky Leigh (RAG Magazine)It is my JOB to be critical, so I am looking for fault. I love the unique sound, pulling the best parts of so many different types of music and blending them together. The vocal range and musical ability shines bright. I think the Lyrics need work on a few tracks. No counting to 12 please. I will send lyrics upon request, Just mention me when you are BIGTIME.
Jumped up into my favorite 5 bands in a day
author: iSleipnirKillola is an amazing group. They seem to be single handedly breathing fresh life back into rock music with dynamic and constantly changing vocals over very intersting and captivating melodies. All the music on this CD is different, nothing sounds the same and the effort they put into their songwritting really shows as does their effort in everythign else. Be sure to check out their site (www.killola.com) and their myspace account (www.myspace.com/killola) for more information than you would ever need a few videos and some extra free unreleased songs!
killola is fab - listen up, and listen louder, louder, louder!!
author: vegan.is.sexyI found Killola on www.MySpace.com/Killola and instantly fell in love with their music. Each track is a dream and I can't imagine anyone else not loving their original tunes.
Get It!
author: NikThe awesome of awesomeness! If you don't already have it, get it. If you have it give it to ALL your friends!
Rock with attitude!
author: KristoffersenI had to check out this band after reading about them in Classic Rock Magazine, so i ordered it from CD Baby. Very good and catchy songs performed with lots of attitude! Way to go, Killola!
- author: J
Brilliant. Musically, lyrically and energetically I would give this 5/5. I had to knock one star off as the production wasn't the greatest in places and didn't do full justice to Lisa's powerful vocals.
Awesome!
author: MatThe whole CD rocks. Every song on it is great. Can't wait for the next!
"...reminiscent of seasoned chick-led rock groups of the ’80s."
author: Revolt MediaNot since Gwen Stefani led No Doubt have we heard such a strong, confident, and spunky female lead vocal. Lisa Rieffel’s pipes are all three and more on the group’s album Louder, LOUDER! – a suitable title for the impatiently hyperactive foursome. In fact, Rieffel’s powerful voice combined with the band’s talent for effortlessly backing her up, make Killola’s sound reminiscent of seasoned chick-led rock groups of the ’80s. Seriously, these guys sound like they were born with instruments in their hands. This in-your-face album is a welcomed change from the not so in-your-face female vocals we’ve had thrown in our faces lately. And honestly, who would you rather have rocking at your parties – Blondie and Pat Benatar or Jessica and Ashlee Simpson? That’s what I thought. The highly polished Louder, LOUDER! kicks off with “Barrel of Donkeys” and Rieffel claiming, “Well if you start me up, ya better finish me off,” a claim I have no problem believing. I also have no problem believing that Killola’s energy is something that won’t be easily finished off. But the album isn’t totally full of get-up-and-go; the third and fifth tracks, “I Don’t Know Who” and “It’s All Right,” both show a softer, romantic side of the group. After all, rockers fall in love, too, right? The album is fairly short – eight tracks (yes, there’s a bonus!) clocking in at 27 minutes and 27 seconds. This is good for two reasons: first, it’s not overkill, and second, it leaves us wanting more. If Killola’s success is going to be half as alive as Louder, LOUDER!, I think it’s safe to say we’ll be getting more. And that is exactly what we want – more Killola! - ALICIA SPARKS, REVOLT MEDIA
SWEET
author: JohnEXCELLENT CD that arrived almost instantly. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is that not EVERY song is as addictive as I Don't Know Who. If every song could be as good as that, they'd earn 5 stars and then some. Still, the rest of the tracks are great and I'd pay to see them live. This CD is worth the money.
Killola rocks the balls off of sexless male-fronted acts!
author: Joshua Jordan Nordykethe cd lives up to its name, managing to blow such un-fun acts as the killers and the bravery out of the water that they pretend to be in. adhering to the same sensibilities of the aforementioned groups, killola and their e.p. succeed, where the others don't. this album sticks to the late '70s and early '80s inspiration that the current "new new wave" bands utilize. but this female vocalized band has pumped their c.d. with more raunch and balls than most androgynous male acts of today have the manhood to pull-off or whip-out. start to finish, it is fun and dancable while maintaining a firm straddle of the mechanical bull we all call "rock and roll." don't be surprised if their next release blows up and gets all sorts of play. so get the album, now, so you can be one of the "cool ones" who had their stuff, before they exploded. this is a record that fans of blondie, queen, the sex pistols and mindless self indulgence can all gather around.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this CD!!!!
author: CherylIt's all I've listened to since I've gotten it!! I've been telling everyone I know about my favorite band Killola
3 Words
author: J CroweWell I don't really need to explain if you look at all the other reviews... so I will narrow this review down to 3 words... awesome, awesome, and awesome
Awesome CD. Awesome band. Awesome people working for them.
author: Justinlove the tracks! needs to be out there in stores so more people have access to it!
It's Killer!!! I love it!!!
author: Simone RiehlI love the cd!!! The only thing is I want to hear more songs!!! The Vocals are amazing and so is the music!!! They are one of my new favorite bands!
By the beard of zeus, this rocks!
author: StevoThis is an awesome cd, love it so much, to say anymore would be to take away from the genius! Plus lisa is HOT!
Mondo Marbles!!!!
author: BillThe guys and I go way back on MySpace, so I was dying to get the album. No surprise, Lisa and the boys rip your guts out with energy and serious riffs. Can't wait til they get to SD so I can experience it live. Loudest!!!
Killola is my new favorite band!
author: Jena SimmsThis CD is a non-stop rockin good time! Every single song is unique and makes you want to turn it up LOUDER, LOUDER! Be smart. Get the CD while you can. You will not regret buying Killola's Louder, Louder! This album is super stellar and is a must have for any true rocker's album collection! I still can't stop listening to it! Peace.
Buy this record!!
author: Matt B.This band was a total pleasant surprise. The songs are edgy yet catchy, and Rieffel's vocal acrobatics are impressive and unique. GREAT CD!
Best new band in the last five years.
author: Garry PufferI got this CD about a month ago and I've listened to almost nothing else since. "Barrel of Donkeys" is one of my favorite songs ever, and "Hollow" is not far behind. Lisa Rieffel sounds to me like Janis Joplin if she'd been in a punkier band. I can't tell you how much I love this CD and I've already missed two performances in LA. I can't wait to see this group live if they are this good in the recording studio. Wow! Really, 6 stars out of 5.
Music that possesses your soul . . .
author: JustineMusic that possesses your soul. That's the only way I can describe this CD. You can't help but put the cd player on repeat. I love these guys!
Great killer rock band with a female lead with unique funky vibe!
author: Chris KurumadaReally am diggin this CD. Just recently discovered the band through a friend on myspace.com, and have been lovin em ever since. Great cd, a bit short but damn sweet. Any easy one to recommend.
envigorating, powerful, ecstatic rock by one good-lookin' band
author: dainasince i got 'louder, louder!', it hasn't left my cd player in the car and i add it to all of my playlists on my ipod. killola brings back the energy and power that rock and roll used to be, especially with "barrel of donkeys". they also bring it down a notch in "it's all right" and it shines. they're going to be big, i have a feeling. if you don't have this album yet, do not hesitate to buy it now.
This is Awesome Music
author: Drewe NobleKillola Rock, Louder LOUDER Rocks, The Music Rocks, The Lyrics Rock, it just all Rocks! Well done.
Louder, Louder full of attitude, energy, rock ‘n’ roll.
author: punkrockchickbands.comFemale fronted band Killola from Burbank, California has introduced something upbeat, pleasurable, and full of energy with their latest CD Louder, Louder!. The CD was officially released on January 24th 2006 featuring 7 tracks with a hidden track and has been receiving a great interest! Killola are Dan Grody (drums, vocals), Mike Ball (guitar, vocals), Johnny Dunn (bass guitar, vocals), and Lisa Rieffel (lead vocals). The band does an amazing job rocking out on all 7 tracks and comes across as a crazy energetic live band. Dan, Mike, and Johnny have yielding talents they’ve put together giving Killola their funky upbeat rock ‘n’ roll sound. Lisa’s vocals have this extremely aggressive yet sexy cute girls voice that’s very seductive at times. The changes between the two styles are dazzling how she mixes them together. It’s almost like her voice is telling a story from a fairytale or some sort of journey. She has very interesting vocals and there’s nothing really out there to compare it to, definitely original! Overall Louder, Louder is full of attitude, energy, and rock ‘n’ roll. Check out Killola’s myspace account to view their achievements as a band in the past 2 years. They are always updating their space and always working hard to get their name out there. Pick up a copy of Louder, Louder! and enjoy every minute of it!

Electric, poetry of words and energetic
author: Jon MahoneyLisa and Mike really make a great vocal team. Barrell of Donkeys Rip off Artist and Appetite are my favorites so far... but I love the energy and the images evoked by the great combination of sounds and poetry. They are definately my new favorite band
Badass!!
author: JennaThis is a great cd! My favorite tracks are #1, 3, 7, but all are excellent!! The band is great, and you can actually feel the emotion in Lisa's voice, especially on track #3. Very talented band. The sound quality on the cd is also very, very good. Definitely worth the money. Killola is one of my favorite bands now, fo sho!!
A "EFFING" MAZING
author: ConnorKillola is now my favorite band. "LOUDER LOUDER" is constantly playing in my house/ car/ everywhere else. If you like Killola, or hard girl pulse rock, you'll love this CD PS: KILLOLA = LOVE
- author: Dark Archangel
Killola! Where have you been all my life?! This album ROCKS! I can't stop playing it and its been over 2 weeks since I got the CD, thats a looong time for me, I'm usually bored after 2 days IF that! And to the person that said the vocals sucked - stick to your manufactured pop music: where the vocals are fake (as well as everything else)and practically computer-generated. If you don't have this album you can't possibly say you love rock! You need this CD, buy it!!!... You know you want to.
- author: eryn
I absolutely love this cd. I waited eagerly at my mailbox until it's arrival and I was not disappointed. It's been in my cd player ever since and everyone keeps asking me who I'm listening too. This band has a unique sound that you won't hear anywhere else. I strongly urge people to check them out! I love Killola!
This music kicks ass - I love it!
author: catlipzIt is the go-go's except excellent and it has a new sound that everyone will start imitating. I love it and not just because I am the drummer's mom.

I am loving this CD. It's so up beat. It's got such an original sound. I love it!
Rock music didn't die, it just changed it's name to Killola!
author: AndiIt will change your life. It will jolt your world. It will make you jirate parts of your body that would surely shame your mother. You know you're in for a the ride of your life from the very first high energy and brash chords of the album's opening track "Barell of Donkeys". From there it only eases up on the gas pedal twice to let it's two semi-mellow songs "I Don't Know Who" and "It's All Right" pass by. It wraps up with the anthem-esque bonus track "Dr. Rock". A fist pumping little ditty that, even though I've never seen Killola live, screams audience paticipation when it's played. And that's about it. The whole thing flies by in a fast but sense tingling 27:29. If you missed anything, I suggest you buckle up, push play, and ride again! It only gets better every play through. My prediction for this LA rock band (who I can easily say is my favorite band EVER right now): Killola will single handedly save rock music...and in the process probably start a few riots.
thank you too!! this one's for the fans.
author: mike bhey it's mike b. of killola and i just wanted to say thanks for the kind words. i frankly couldn't say it better myself. enjoy life my friends!!! mikeb
AMAZING!!!!

nina hagen-esque
author: shell'sbutter='sloveThis song-barrel of donkeys is coolfun& nina hagen-esque,if you know what i mean-you will dig it the most child!
singer sucks
author: Rock and Roll Queendamn, they need somebody else on the vocals, this girl can't sing at all. terrible voice, my ears hurt!
Rock + Depth = Great Music
author: AdamsThe album has great depth and rocks on top of that. From straight up rockin' out on 'Barrel of Donkeys' to the Jazzy-Surf rock of 'Get Around' and the sweet vocals and lovely longing on 'It's All Right,' this album feels good to listen to and never gets stale.
This album is seriously refreshing. Rock n roll needs this band.
author: Frankie B.I'm not a professional reviewer, nor do I work for a magazine or anything like that. BUt I like good music... Louder, Louder! has a very (very!) new sound. Killola masterfully blends garage flare with a magnetic look-at-me appeal. The singer's voice is tuff as hell, allthewhile remaining very ladylike. She has a TON of control. The band and music is straight-up BAD ASS. The first song is a hit for sure, and the last song (bonus track) is a VERY cool treat. YOU NEED THIS CD!!!
