Sonny Khoeblal...noted modern day Western pianist-keyboardist and composer originally from Suriname of South America. Recognized as one among the top 5, he was encouraged through all his development, by parents Jozef and Lize Khoeblal and their large family of music minded Indian and European descendants , influenced by Euro-classical, East Indian, North and South American and Caribbean music styles and started at the young age of 6 studying classically with European and East Indian gurus (Johan Busropan, Sukki Akkal, Eddy Vervuurt , Leo Ferrier, Marlon Tjon a Kong) to further explore wider musical areas through his own research. He later attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in the USA, followed by 1000's of performances in more than 15 Top 40, jazz and original music bands in the last 25 years, in the USA, Suriname, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and the Caribbean.

The album, brilliantly enhanced with soothing sounds of the cooling tropical rainforests by sound artist & producer John Grout, has become and continues to be a favorite to many in the relaxation/nature/anti-stress/ romance/natural healing market in the USA, Japan, the Caribbean, Suriname and the Netherlands since 1997 and demand for his new works is becoming greater by the day.

But he's only just now begun releasing albums internationally. He first entered the scene in 1979 with the launch of his instrumental hit experiment 'Craziest' and 'Arrival/Born Again' in Suriname, with Clark Snijders, Yogi Gilles , Jozef Ullah and Sharif Jamaludin, which caught on fast and put him officially on the map. In 1980 he joined forces with fusionists Lee Sack Fong, Denkers and Van Ommeren and made jazzy Suriname proud of their new fusion and pop band Thalamus, featuring trumpetist Juhan Lee from Korea (www.juhanlee.com) and Misha Lichtveld on flute. From 1981-82, he explored the raggae territories with the Guyanese-Jamaican group Dueshmo ( Husbands, Lemmer,Durante and Maxwell).

Almost 20 years later, after gaining extensive performance and studio experience and skills all over the world, his most current and much in demand instrumental hit CD Wings of Peace has been enjoying daily radio and TV airplay in Suriname for more than 5 years now. Consequently the full 11 song self produced Wings of Peace album has just been released for all eager fans and the entire world and promises to help bring us all one step closer to the so needed Peace in both the West and the East.
It includes hot performances by a roster of musicians from several lands, including new talent, Sonny's very own daughter, Rhea on piano.

For 15 years,from 1988 until 2005, Sonny has had the honour to perform yearly for several months on the exclusive Freewinds cruise ship of Majestic Cruise Lines in the Caribbean and Mexico , providing general entertainment for international and Caribbean audiences, with talented associates Steven Schlussel, Patrick Zagury and John Politakis, often supporting local social improvement activities that enjoy wide media coverage.

When not at sea or doing concerts , Sonny is also at work in the studio producing music for radio, television and documentary programs for international companies such as Conservation International, Surinam Airways, Coca Cola , State Oil Company and Ballast Needam in collaboration with MediaVision and Rick Grunberg Promotions of Suriname.

As part of an opening act he performed with a Reggae band Dueshmo for Steel Pulse (UK) and
with R&B toppers from Boston, Larry Wu and Malik, for The Stylistics.( in Boston).
He also shared the bill with Carib greats like The Splash Band and Krosfayah
and at some of his shows, he was joined by the dance company of Marlene Lie A Ling
from Suriname who travel the world, now also featuring 'Wings of Peace' in their program.

In 2001 , at the 12th Suriname Popular Song Festival, the song "Mi Ai" from winning Suriname songwriter Gerda Tjien Fooh, to which he lend his magic producing wand , earned 2nd place.

In the fall of 2002 he toured the Caribbean with a 4 piece funk band, accompanying the #1 Gospel Choir in the Caribbean from Suriname : 25 member Voices in Praise.

In 2003, he co-produced the vocal hit " To where you are ", by USA Marji Nelson, and it went in 7 weeks to #1 on the hitparade at the most popular RADIO APINTIE in Suriname.

A month later, in Dec 2003, he received the honor of being the Music Director, leading an 8 piece funk band for the Nydia Fantasy Christmas Dinner show in Surinames famous Nesty Indoor Stadium , attended by more than 2000 fans of the well known Nydia TV show there. The show displayed a variety of pop and R&B soul and Gospel Christmas music, both from Suriname , Venezuela and the USA, presented by around 50 vocalists popular in Suriname and the Netherlands. This was then televised twice.

Sonny has also enjoyed multiple TV broadcasts of a number of his live modern jazz fusion concerts, done in Suriname and sponsored by established businesses in the society.
His composing skills have furthermore been utilised in corporate advertising, documentaries and 'on hold' applications as well as weekly government tv programs.

    The Songs on this CD are a must to have. after a long day this is what gives you the energy to continue. The music is made to enjoy the silence and have a peacefull surrounding.
