Album Notes

Attic Demonstration Kenneth Higney Killer record. Funny to say that now because my first spin left me with some kind of weird, temporary emotional disease. His lyrics are brutally hopeless and disheartening and I clearly remember thinking that this was NOT the type of music I wanted to surround myself with in life. Anyway, long story short, the album wore on and it ended up in higher rotation than any other LP I owned for weeks straight. Remarkable artifact that holds a very strange allure. Provides a fascinating glimpse into the damaged psyche of this thoughtful working class burnout. I don't really know the deal on "the band" here. I'm guessing it's Higney himself playing all the instruments, but I'm not positive. Either way, the guitar work on this one is super punk with highly charged fuzz blasts throughout and his rough-edged vocals perfectly suit the subject matter. Fans of Outsider expression will definitely wanna track a copy of this down

after few listening i get strong feeling about "these songs must be covered", cause they are so great and they also leave huge space for other inventions.... after that i recieve cd and read in liner notes that it was an intention! i'm not sure about comparison - sometimes it brings up band "les rallizes denudes" or also "virgin insanity" to my mind. so good - highest recommendations!

A MUST HEAR FOR ALL (DEMENTED) HEADS
author: IBM27
Fits in with the finest "break down" records of all time, along with OAR, Sister Lovers and stuff like that, "Attic Demonstration" from 1976 is a totally unknown masterpiece. It rocks and falls apart all at the same time. In a perfect world someone like The Seth Man or Cope himself would already have written a seven pages long review and Higney´s lyric would be true: "I finally got what I wanted, Everybody knows my name...". A must hear for all (demented) heads!

Attic Demonstration could be your new favourite disc
author: ken perlich - NOW Toronto
Attic discovery What? You've never heard of Kenneth Higney ? That makes two of us. But there was something strangely compelling about the Xerox-quality cover image of the shaggy outsider hombre on the Attic Demonstration (Kebrutney) disc and its song titles like No Heavy Trucking, Children Of Sound and Funky Kinky that insistently mumbled, "Buy or else." If you're intrigued by the concept of a hairier Jandek reinterpreting the hippie redneck songbook of Jim Ford , then Attic Demonstration could be your new favourite disc.
