Welcome all to the world of Amar Khalil, a hot new Soulful R&G (Rhythmn & Gospel) Inspirational Artist from the Music Mecca of Oakland California. Amar has teamed up with one of today's hottest young producer's, Jamie Hawkins, son of the world's famous gospel family Walter & Tramaine Hawkins, also, husband and producer of hit recording artist Sunny Hawkins.                    

Oakland, California native Amar Khalil came into his own in 2006 debuting his new album and music ministry. A Neo-Soul, Inspirational style that blends classic R&B and Gospel, and a whole lot of Silky Smooth Soul. Amar,an accomplished singer who can handle lead and background vocals and improvisation equally well, is an all-around talent as a songwriter, musician, dancer and actor. His rich vocals and harmony blends, favor the lyrical introspective and rhythm and blues approach reminiscent of his childhood favorites Donny Hathaway, the Jackson 5 and Stevie Wonder, to name a few.

The combination of music on this debut includes brilliantly written original material. With this being said, it is not difficult to understand why the smooth melodic sounds of "Where There's A Will There's A Way", make Amar a BayArea favorite, even among the discriminating listener.

This body of work celebrates a Beautiful relationship between a young man and his love for God, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Amar is truly a blessed and special young man. A young man who has definitely had his share of ups and downs, but is not afraid of sharing his testimony with the world. Through fine songwriting and masterful music production, "Where There's A Will There's A Way" will engage listeners with every riff and chorus. His silky tones continually surprise listeners with just enough edge to keep them moving to the beat. Without question, he is an artist who cannot be categorized in just one genre as just when you think you've discovered his niche; he switches directions from contemporary to funk or R&B to hip hop-flavored gospel. A bonafide musical prodigy, Amar polished his strong vocal skills while touring the world singing with his accomplished high school choir, "The Castaleers." He solidified his professional musical relationship with the Bay Area music scene with repeat performances in the internationally acclaimed San Francisco musical revue, "Beach Blanket Babylon" and collaborations with some of the best and most successful entertainers in the music industry including background vocals, choreography and touring with Con Funk Shun member and successful solo artist, Michael Cooper and top female group En Vogue.  He has done session work with Foster/McElroy of 2-Tuff-Enuff Productions, jazz saxophonist J. Spencer, Dwayne Wiggins of Tony Toni Toné, Raphael Saadiq, rap artist Richie Rich and a host of other performers.

Amar has played clubs, concerts and festivals and has toured extensively throughout the US, Canada and Japan. He is currently touring the U.S. as lead vocalist of the platinum-plus group, Tony Toni Toné, receiving rave reviews in Japan and the U.S. and appearances on the BET Soundstage, the House of Blues and many other venues.

    Hope all is well with you and your family. Was at the Art & Soul Festival today, but missed seeing you perform. Also noticed on your website that you performed at Maxwell's on Aug. 22nd. Missed that as well. I continue to listen to your CD constantly and I hate that I missed seeing you perform at both places. Had no idea you even performed at Maxwell's until I checked your website. If I had known, I definitely would have been there to support you. Your CD continues to be such a blessing to me every time I listen to it. Andy I listen to it quite often. Ever since I bought a copy from you the night you performed at Val's church. Especially, "Thank You" and "Sunny Day". And you have no idea how often I play "I See You" when I get depressed or stressed out. Continue to bless others with your music the same way you have been blessed. God has been so good to you. He has giving you a voice to use to be a blessing to others . Please let me know when you will be performing in the Bay Area or anywhere in California again.     This Cd has some great hits on it that I would love to hear on the radio. Amar has done a great job keeping the music up beat, yet it is not over-whelming.     I had the opportunity to listen to this CD and the priviledge of listening to Amar perform his music live at Evergreen Baptist Church. I must say that it was very well done. The audience at Evergreen could not get enough of Amar. The music was uplifting, with a very nice beat. The production was great. I found myself enjoying the melodic spiritual message through the words while enjoying the R&B style. Once this CD hit's the mainstream market it will sell like wildfire. God Bless

    AMAR KHALIL; Earmark WHERE THERE’S A WILL THERE’S A WAY I know nothing about Amar Khalil save that the publicity blurb tells me he’s touring in an incarnation of Tony, Toni, Tone. If that wasn’t enough to get me interested in the album, the fact that it was produced by Jamie Hawkins made it a must-to-seek… an as I always say, seek and ye shall find! Here I found a fantastic modern gospel set, and as we know, great modern gospel equates with great modern soul. First off, Khalil has a sweet voice with just the right amount of soul strain/grit. Its easy to hear why he was drafted into the Tonys. Secondly, Jamie Hawkins is a wonderful producer. His work is economical and is always stamped with his trademark bass lines that gives each song the good groove to raise it worth. Thirdly, between them producer and produced have realized that brevity is often a virtue. My guess is that the duo had dozens of songs on the go. Here they presents with just seven “real” songs and they’re all beauties ranging from the busy “Higher” to the sweet “Quickly”. Best of the lot is the groove-heavy “Solitary” which should inspire believers and modern room dancers. The album is prefaced by a brief intro groove bearing the album’s title. Its reprised later on and then there’s a couple of sentimental interludes featuring the singer’s children. Some may find “Prayer For Daddy” a bit cloying, but in the context of the album, it works.     Great album - amazing productions from Jamie and excellent songwriting on this album from Amar. Amar' voice is smooth, and very balanced, making this album a gemm which is playable throughout from 1st to the last track. There are no fillers which makes it exceptional and value for money! This album is high on my best albums of 2005 list and tracks like Cant stay away and Solitairy especially gives me warmth and goosebumps at the same time, just exceptional class! I will spin this on air the coming years! Major labels be ashamed that you didnt signed Amal and last but not least dropped Jamie's unreleased Monami/Elektra album...
