Born and raised in New York, now living in São Paulo, Brazil. Started playing the guitar & electric bass in grade school. Over the years studied a little bit of classical technique, a little bit of theory, Brazilian guitar with Carlos Munhoz in 2000, and jazz guitar with Michael Howell at NY’s Jazzmobile in 2002-2003.
In the early 80’s played the bar-circuit around New York and toured Scandinavia with the Lushtones featuring John Keese. Recording with Rainwater (an assortment of New York and Brazilian jazz musicians) since the late 90’s, a mix of ballads, jazzy blues and some things with a Latin feel. Accompanied jazz singer Meg Macan in New York in 2003-2004. Began writing songs in the 80's and 90’s, generally without lyrics, and think of myself mostly as a writer of jazz ballads. I love Brazilian music, and now record mostly with Brazilian musicians. But a lot of the time my head is full of American Rhythm & Blues.
