Kenny Washington is a jazz vocalist virtuoso. With a range over four octaves, his playful, free approach to any tune is truly awe inspiring. His tone on ballads is liquid, his scat is so rapid-fire, passionate, melodious and inventive that subsequent saxophone solos often pale, and his intonation is so precise that it becomes noticeable if the piano wasn't tuned that day. His range seems limitless. With a childhood background singing in gospel, Kenny is at home with the Blues as well as Jazz and Pop.

If you have never heard this New Orleans native sing before, get ready for a jaw dropping experience.

    very impressive, especially for a live cd. incredible scatting, timing and range. He hits not one "off" note the entire album. why haven't we heard more from this guy? All Blues and Oleo some of the highlights.

    At long last!! There are some of us who have been waiting for forever for a CD from Kenny Washington. And now it is here, and it is wonderful. Kenny is one of the Bay Area's finest jazz musicians. We are so lucky that we have not lost him to New York or Los Angeles. If you want to be absolutely stunned by his vocal range and phenomenal scatting, come to his show at Anna's Jazz Island in Berkeley on September 2008 and be part of his release party for this CD. You will be amazed at what comes out of this guy!
