"Flags of Our Fathers-A Soldier's Story" is a collection of songs written by Thomas that tell stories inspired by life in the military and those who serve our nation. Working with Grammy-winning producer Brent Maher and Mark Selby, he uses his unique insight to bring these memorable songs to life and tell a story as only someone who has experienced them can.

Keni Thomas is an artist with a uniquely inspiring personal story. As an Army Ranger and member of the elite Task Force Ranger assault unit he fought in the Somalia battle recounted in the book and motion picture Black Hawk Down. SSG Thomas received the bronze star for valor and the combat infantryman's badge. After leaving the Army, he worked as a counselor in an outdoor therapeutic program for troubled youth and formed his band Cornbread. When not on the road with his band, he is regularly booked as a keynote speaker for corporations and organizations around the country giving motivational speeches on teamwork and leadership.

Thomas is also a national spokesman for the Hero Fund (www.HeroFund.com.) and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. When you buy this record, part of your money will go to the Hero Fund which donates those funds entirely to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. They provide college eductions to the children of our special ops personnel killed in combat or training. SOWF has over 600 kids currently committed to college. Why? Because thats what their Dads would have wanted.

Thomas worked as a military advisor and appeared on screen in "We Were Soldiers" as a squad leader beside Mel Gibson and, he and his band Cornbread were featured in the film "Sweet Home Alabama".

    This CD is incredible. However, perhaps a warning should be on the label that if you've ever loved someone and lost them in combat, this CD is also an emotional "Wipe-out" for you. I had to play it a half dozen times before I could make it through withoug breaking down.

    As my brother serves as an officer for the Army in Germany and about to go on his second tour in Iraq and I often question why he chooses to be a solider for a living.     I bought this CD after someone told me about the song "Not Me"...this song describes how I felt after I got my twin sister's 4 children when she died in June 2002. I love the kids so much but was so scared about how I was going to do it alone....We've made it just fine and they are my heart! Thanks for the inspiration, Keni!

I’ve been to the wall many times and as I age, each trip is more emotional and more difficult than the last.     I have been a music buff for years, and have great appreciation for artists who support our troops. Keni Thomos, however, both in his music and his actions makes all others pale in comparison. His songs gave me chills the first time I heard them, and continue to do so. The Hero Fund lets our Special Operations soldiers go to work knowing that if they do not return, their children will be taken care of. I applaude Keni for his prior service, his support of our troops, and his dedication to the children of SOF soldiers.     What a great cd!! I love the song Not Me because it carries a great meaning to me and my grandfather, espeacially my grandfather because it reminds him of his struggles as a kid during the depression and during WWII as a soldier. The song also shows how people would rather run away but instead they should take stand. This is an awsome cd and is generaly by far the best i have ever heard.     Keni Thomas is an example of a True American Soldier at Heart and he portrays this through the wonderful songs on this CD.     Great CD of inspiring and thought-provoking songs. Lyrics are among the best I have seen - not a song on the CD is "bad", the whole album is worth listening to. "Not Me" reminds us that, sometimes, we need to take a stand, when would really rather run away. The guest artists (Kenny Rogers, Blackhawk, Shawn Mullins, etc) are a nice musical addition. A CD that honors the soldier for who they are - good job!

    I bought this CD for my Mom since she is the country music lover and you were there to autograph it. I put it in the car CD player as I took a 45 minute drive and almost the entire drive that CD made this 48 year old man cry and made me proud that I volunteered a month ago to go to Iraq in support of our troops.     What more can be said about this CD that hasn't already been said here? It is a great CD...hasn't left my CD player since I got it! It is uplifting and empowering. It is sad and makes you think about the sacrafices of our service men and women. Someone stated Nashville finally got patriotic right and I agree. 5 stars isn't enough to give this CD. You think of all of the men and women serving or that did serve when you listen to this CD and no CD collection is considered complete without it.

    The first time I listened to it I thought I was going to cry, but the lyrics are so positive and uplifting, all I could do was smile. I have listened to it over and over, placing myself in the song. I think about the sacrafices that Keni made along with the others on that dreadful day, I think about the veterans of other wars and the soldiers who never saw a battle. I mostly think about my husband. I wonder about his new band of brothers as he prepares for battle, because he said -SEND ME. I listened to it after visiting him on leave, it was like to lyrics took a whole new meaning. Each time I think about something different, but it always comes back to the families and service members-our sacrafices that we make to make this country the best place to live in the world. THANK YOU KENI for the positive inspiration. God bless you, the soldiers and their famililies of past, present, and future.

    I had the pleasure of seeing Keni perform live for the first time @ the GA Music Hall of Fame this fall after having been a long-time fan of his. I heard a few of the songs off this CD at the concert, and have been eagerly anticipating it's release for several months now. Boy was it worth the wait!!! This album is amazing - the lyrics, vocals, everything. It would be impossible to pick one favorite song from this CD, but I especially love "Didn't We Prove Them Wrong" and "Circle on the Cross".     As a member of Air Force Special Ops and an Air Force Brat, this album has a dual meaning for me. The lyrics are phenomenal and say the way that military members and their families feel. I have shared it with everyone I know, there is no better way to take care of our own than for Special Ops troops to buy the album. The song Flags of our Fathers is so very true - I can remember seeing that 'one old man' at every parade growing up. Fabulous work Keni!! Keep it up!

    I had an opportunity to hear Mr. Thomas speak at a conference in Oklahoma. He was both motivational and engaging. At that time, I was told about his new CD. This CD is great! His beautiful vocals and strong storytelling throughout the CD pull at your heartstrings. I would recommend this CD whole heartedly.

    I happened to be watching the morning show and saw Keni Thomas plugging a live show he was doing in town. Now to fully gain the impact the two songs he sang had on me you have to understand that I am not generaly a country fan. I purchased THREE cd's just before Christmas and gave two of them as gifts and kept one for myself. It must have been fate that I liked it so much because less than a week before Christmas my grandfather died. He served in World War II as part of the ground forces. As a tribute to him and his contribution to the war effort in WWII, we played two songs from the album at his service. Needless to say, I am impressed with the artist as well as the songs. Thank you for producing a new and heartfelt album that brings home the need for support of those who risk their lives for ours!

    I have never been involved with the military, so I didn't think a military album would rock my world- but this record snuck up on me. Like Kristofferson or Mellencamp, Thomas tells stories without being overly jingoistic or opportunistic. During this time of unrest, I found this record to be extremely valuable in putting a human heart/face to the thousands of soldiers I see on the evening news each night. The guests are amazing and well-utilized. My favorite song is 7 Days (with Michael McDonald), but all these songs serve an important role in this biopic album. Way to go Nashville- you finally did patriotic right.

    To say this is a GREAT CD would still be an understatement of the artist, the lyrics and the songs. I don't know if it would be fair to lock it in to a genre and call it country rock, because that is only the tip of the iceberg. College stations will have to pick this one up, as well as country, country rock any station that wants to pick up on the true to heart "One Nation Under God" theme from Vietnam to Iraq, or any war torn nation who are losing their sons. Keni puts his heart and soul in to this one, and his talent rings through to your bones, your heart and your soul. Don;t let this CD slip away from you, get a copy ASAP. Keni, and Cornbread, well, Tim and Kenny need to save room on the couch for brother.

    I had been planning to get his old CD for the song Hero for some time now, and like every thing else I never had time or never remembered when I was looking right at it. When this new CD came out, I made a point of stopping and ordering 2 of them, one for myself and one as a gift to another friend who is a veteran. If ever you feel the need that you must stop and smell the roses or take a look around to appreciate your life, these songs will help you understand why. The songs "Hero", "Not Me" and "Send Me" say it all From one veteran to another, God bless Keni and his music. I know this man will go far!
