This classic collection of popular melodies was recorded in November, 1997 by Tom Kellock, one of the West Coast's premier studio musicians. Kellock has toured with and composed for artists such as Manhattan Transfer, Al Jarreau, Melissa Manchester, Glen Cambell, and Richard Elliot. He has also recorded and composed extensively for both film and television.
Kellock's solo piano style brings out the essence of a song. His arrangements are pure and unaffected, displaying the beauty of each song. Kellock draws the listener into the music with his relaxing, elegant syle.
"Romantic Ballads for Solo Piano" was recorded at Triad Studios in Redmond, Washington using state-of-the-art digital recording technique and equipment. Utmost care was taken throughout the recording and mastering process by multi-Platinum award-winning engineer Tom Hall. The Yamaha Concery Grand Piano was recorded direct to stereo digital using Neumann KM88 microphones and the DB Technologies AD 122 analogue to digital converter. The music was mastered in digital by Tom Hall and Masa Sukudome using the Sonic Solutions Digital Mastering System.
