Sage Keffer is one of the most charismatic recording artists coming out of Nashville today. Pushing the limits of stage presence, his voice is equally capable of gripping your heart with its gravely texture or melting it with its sensual smoothness. His songs of real life weave emotionally charged lyrics through interesting melodies.
Born in Santa Fe, NM and raised on the Colorado-Wyoming border, Sage grew up performing landing him a voice scholarship at Denver's prestigious Lamont School of Music. However, his heart was in country music and after receiving his degree in Psychology, he moved to Nashville to pursue his passion. Sage's sound not only earns the respect of grizzled cowboys, but also appeals to people of all ages transcending music genres.
With God-given charisma, smarts and talent, Sage grew up hiking and fishing his way through the great outdoors of northern Colorado. The fresh air, crisp weather and the beauty of the land were woven into the canvas of his life. Sage was far from home when he experienced a peak moment in his lifetime of climbing. While in college, he had the opportunity to visit East Africa, where he scaled Mt. Kilimanjaro. This journey was particularly meaningful because his grandfather, an accomplished veterinarian, had worked and studied in Africa for a few years. For Sage, this personal dream come true was 'following in the footsteps' of the highest order.
Sage moved to Nashville from Colorado specifically to be a recording artist. He has solely supported himself by working at Nashville Tape Supply, We Make Tapes, and various other temp jobs on the Row. Sage has a strong, supportive base from many types of studios and publishing companies on music row, due to making friends easily while working on the Row.
Sage made it to the Nashville Star Regionals (the final stage of selection for the TV show) both 1st and 2nd seasons and the Regionals in the Colgate Country Showdown.
Sage understands the work necessary to be a successful artist and is willing to follow through. He has the work ethic, persistence, integrity, organization, people skills, and a voice that sounds like no other. Most importantly, Sage has that "extra spark", the stage presence, charisma and character required to stand out as an artist.

I'm ready for the next CD, Sage! I still love listening to this CD over an over again.
Love this and I am not a fan of country western music.
author: Susan MI play the cd over and over, listening to the variety of tempo and the voice change with each song. I do not usually care for Country Western. But I can actually sing along if I choose. Please, another cd!

Some major label should give him a contract!
author: Robert K. OermannDISClaimer Sage Keffer is the DisCovery Award winner today. Some major label should give him a contract, take the eight sides on Rules of the Game as is and give him and his most worthy producer Matt Rovey a bunch of money to add four more tracks. Take my word for it, this guy has got a boatload of talent to back up his good looks. SAGE KEFFER/I Said I Love You/ I first encountered this guy in Kansas City when I was on the road judging for Nashville Star. I told him I’d be interested in hearing more from him. Guess what? He’s moved to Nashville and made a CD. Titled Rules of the Game, it is simply splendid, way better than most major-label products. As I remembered, he is a singer with immense heart. It turns out that he’s a heck of a song selector, too. Every track here is a little gem, but his performance on this deliciously melodic toe-tapper is especially swell. The production carries you along like a perfect wave. Also check out his ballad showcase All I Want, his reworking of the 1934 swing chestnut I’ll String Along with You and his tender cover of Neil Diamond’s Hello Again.

Great CD I enjoyed listening to it-Sage you know I think that you are awesome, but, some of the songs run together and sound the same-even still it is one of my favorite CD's
I have to admit that I like him better than Ray Charles!
author: Bev in KCI really did enjoy it. I've got to let you know the reaction from my children. I have a 13 year old girl who likes everything that is hip and cool for a teenage city girl and wouldn't be caught dead listening to country music. She said, "Wow, he is really good.", and sang to your CD on the way to school today. And the very best....My 7 year old Maggie said, " I have to admit that I like him better than Ray Charles!
Sage, you may be single-handedly saving REAL country music.

one of the finest first collection of songs that has ever come past this writer'
author: angrycountry.comNot only do I admire Sage Keffer for his determination, but his plan also paid off; he has produced in the studio one of the finest first collection of songs that has ever come past this writer's desk. In fact, his collection of songs is better than many albums I have received from major label artists for review. He has found his place in Nashville and has consistently worked to prove his worth as an outstanding country music singer/songwriter. I urge our readers to give Sage's music a listen, I think you will also find (as I did) that this a young man does indeed know his country music... he knows just what to bring to a song and how to make you feel it, while bringing a new and fresh twist to the sound. More importantly, however, I was extremely impressed that such a fine first project is coming from a relatively new artist to Nashville... especially at a time when many of the established artists seem to be losing sight of what a real country song is supposed to be. Sage is an artist whose album is begging to be heard - enough said!
