notes
Performing with Jewel, Steve Winwood and 10,000 Maniacs within the first year of forming, the fiercely independent Katie Todd Band has burst onto the Chicago music scene. Katie, a singer/songwriter/keyboardist, is backed by a powerful trio, consisting of Travis Dow on guitar, Mark Cameron on drums, and Evan Cantor on the bass. The four of them create a fresh and edgy brand of pop music. 2002 proved to be a pivotal year for the band, releasing
their debut album, "Changing Faces" to much critical acclaim. The Katie Todd Band won the "Big Break" competition in June of 2002, which gave them the opportunity to open for Tonic at Milwaukee's Summerfest, which then opened the door for them to open for Steve Winwood at Milwaukee's 2003 Summerfest, Five For Fighting in 2004, and Pete Yorn in 2005. The Katie Todd Band continues to play regularly around the country, including an opening stint for the Wallflowers in Chicago this past summer. On Dec. 20, 2003, the band released their first live album to enthusiastic audiences. The band regularly sells out legendary Chicago venues such as Schuba's and Double Door. Their compelling stage presence is provoking some of the most powerful live performances to be seen.
2005's Make Some Time For Wasting is the band's dynamite new offering.

What a brilliant new Artist
author: Michael BablickEvery song on this album is like an uncut diamond. Her voice and her piano-playing make this CD a miracle.
Great CD
author: RandallThis is a great CD..can't wait to see them live!
Grrrrrrrrrrrreat!
author: LarryThis is one tight band playing songs that should be charting, fronted by a woman with a voice that stays with you long after the CD has played through.
Im hooked
author: New fanWith all the music out there that sounds the same and flames out quickly. The Katie Todd band is a breath of fresh air. Thank god for that repeat button What a voice, what a style, what a total package. How they are not a nationwide talent yet is beyond me. Check out track 5 spinning. What a groovy little tune. Thank you katie for sharing your lyrics with us.
Katie Todd Rocks
author: DanThis CD is great, buy three copies of it! Seriously though, as good as the CD is Katie Todd is infinetly more stirring in person. Go see one of her shows if you're ever in the Chicago area.
Review of the LIVE CD
author: RyanMy girlfriend attended a live show of "The Katie Todd Band" at a local Cafe, in Oshkosh, WI. She said that this band was so awesome, and that she had bought a CD. Well... after listening to that first song... I was hooked. I love what I'm hearing every time I put on those headphones, and I can definitely say that "The Katie Todd Band" will go far! :D
LOVE IT!!
author: ALI saw the band in concert at Summerfest in Milwaukee,Wi. I have never heard of the band before, but enjoyed the show and have really enjoyed the cd.
Great album...
author: PaulI have to say that my purhcase of your CD Changing Faces was a great one. I heard through your website that you are selling a LIVE CD. I hope it comes out soon as I'm burning a hole in the first one! Thanks for the tunes.
Come back...
author: JeffI was fortunate enough to catch your live show and I have to tell you that your band is awesome. I see tons of live music and you guys are a short step away from being signed to a major label...if that's desireable anymore. Your CD made it into my player on the way home from the show and it is still there. I'll be front and center when you return. Good luck! Jeff in Iowa

Unbelivable is Katie Todd. She's what you want and more. Her vocals are so unique that you just can't get enough. I have not met anyone who doesn't fall in love with her music right away. Thanks Katie!
UNREAL
author: AndrewSo good; all the tunes keep you very happy, and ease your mind. Great stuff.
holy holy cow
author: AngelineI'm blown away by this disc. It hasn't left my side since I've gotten it. It seems her voice is like dying leaves- ripe and ready to jump into.
Stuck in my CD player....
author: SteveThis CD is stuck in my player. I can't get enough. I'll take it out for a little while to try and change things up and end up right back on the Katie Todd disc! This disc is great...and accouting for it's independent nature...I'm blown away. This is top shelf! Rock on girl!
girl gone wild
author: erinThis CD was in my walkman for a month straight. i could say the phrase 'female pop songwriter' and i'm sure you'd picture michelle branch with a guitar and vanessa carlton seated at a piano. but i give you a new breed. afro-ed out katie todd creates a new genre of power pop. todd retains the north suburban chicago dorkiness that brings people together rather than alienate them. she's not a cover girl teenage sweetheart. she parades herself as a regular girl who may or may not tell rather strange stories on stage. but that doesn't matter. what matters is her voice. todd possesses the vocal presence of fiona apple if only fiona apple wasn't too busy fighting the turkey genocide. get fiona out of the dark, feed her some burgers and swine, and let her smell daisies all day, and there you have katie todd. her voice has an unusual quality to it that makes her sound as if she is always on the verge of laughing/crying. strained in a good way. whiny in a good way. pokes you in a good way. unlike many female songwriters today, todd's stylings are not muddied with over-dramatic ballads. i had an obsessive stint with catie curtis that made me wish i had someone to walking in a quiet fall rain with. todd on the other hand makes me wish i had someone to jump in puddles with. that's what makes her stand out.
Amazing!
This is a great cd. Reminiscent of Erin McKeown, yet with a style completely her own. It's a spatacular upbeat cd.
Fresh and fun!
author: Chicago fanKatie Todd's lyrics and music are a refreshing change from the standard pop music scene. She reminds me a bit of Natalie Merchant. Todd's lyrics are suprising in a good way and flow well with her beats. I've hooked all of my friends on her cd too!
This Disc is a HIT!!!
I came to a live show after hearing your disc. You guys are Terrific! Good luck. Come back to Milwaukee!!!!!
Out-freakin'-standing CD
author: RandallEasily one of the best CD's I've heard. If you have the opportunity to see KTB live, I'd highly recommend going. Outstanding music, an enchanting voice, and great lyrics. If your thinking, "gee, i'd like to hear some new music, but don't know, maybe i won't like the whole cd, and that wouldn't be good", then this is the CD to get. You will not regret it. Buy two, because you're going to want to give one of your friends a copy.
Outstanding and surprisingly polished, crafted songs.
author: Zeitgeist, dreamusher.comThis CD was a genuine delight and I simply cannot put it down. I listed to it in the morning on the way to work, listen to it AT work, then I take it home and crank it some more. Deft and skillful, tight playing, beautiful vocals and quirky lyrics that get under your skin. AMAZING through and through.
Why isn't this girl signed to a major label?
Wow! only 23 and such an amazing debut! I was completely blown away by the songwriting and catchy lyrics and how tight the band is. I can't believe that this is an independent release. Great production. I've bought 2 extra cds to give to friends.
2002 Sweet Surprise!!
The most pleasant surprise of 2002 is Katie Todd, a diminutive singer-songwriter from Chicago whose debut album is packed with remarkable pop songs centered around her astonishing keyboard skills and breathtaking vocals. Changing Faces is an astounding debut that puts Todd on the map as one of the most promising and likable new talents on the singer-songwriter scene! (Music-Box Review)
S T U N N I N G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My new favorite disc
author: Joel FinkleAfter hearing her at Uncommon Ground while waiting for Pat MacDonald (who never showed), we bought her prerelease disc and I'm flattened. This is one of the best debuts I've heard in years. From quiet melodies like "Vacate" to kick-butt danceable "Brittle" (waaay too short -- jam all night to this one) this is one terrific album. With a voice somewhere between Abra Moore and Sinead O'Connor, and a piano style that doesn't borrow from any of the pop standards, Katie Todd can't miss!
AWESOME!! Heard you on the radio in Chicago... CD is great.
I first heard Katie on Chicago radio and had to get the CD. IT is great...every song. "Tiger", "Spinning" and "Changing Faces" rock!
Intense vocals, Chicago's up and coming rising star!
Enchanting vocals. Great pop/rock sound. This girl is going to be a big star. Get your copy of this cd so you can say I knew her when!
A rising star for sure. Sounds great on the radio. I'm a new fan!!
