"The Red Hat: Adventure Tales for Young Listeners and Their Friends" is a collection of stories, with songs and activities for children ages 4 to 9. Katie Green is a speech/language pathologist, educator, and National Storytelling Association Award winner (1998). On this recording, she combines her interests and talents. It includes seven stories, many of which include environmental sounds and special effects taht are further enhanced when listened to with earphones or well separated speakers.

The story of "The Red Hat" tells of a fish who wants to stand out in a school where all the fish are the same. "Masha and the Bear" is a Russian folktale about a girl who cleverly escapes from a bear. "Fair Rosa" is a lyrical version of "Sleeping Beauty." The notes in the jewel case cover contain suggestions for parents and teachers that will stimulate language learning and literacy.
