The New Jersey Star Ledger
A New Jersey native, Kathy has been performing for the public since childhood. She stood out in choral groups throughout grammar school, high school and college including the New Jersey All-State Chorus and the All-Eastern Division of the Music Educators National Conference.
As a college student, Kathy studied vocal performance, music theory and composition. At Penn State University, she began to sing and play guitar at various commercial venues.
Upon graduation, Kathy Byers started a solo act with guitar in local restaurants of northwestern New Jersey and has appeared on television NJ News Channel 12, Pennsylvania Eyewatch News 13, and on WJFFFM Making Waves radio program in New York State.
In addition to Kathy's continuing craft of song writing, Kathy is a K 5th grade Music Director in northern New Jersey, where she inspires children to sing and enthusiastically express their love for music.
'Round the Campfire, a compilation of family/scout favorites, is known for highly sought after tunes such as "Barges", "This Land Is Your Land" and the scout song "Linger".
Kathy Byers resides in Chatham, New Jersey with her husband Jim and 14 year-old son Matthew.
