Katholicus (pronounced: Ka-thÓ-li-kus) provides a guitar-dominated commercially oriented melodic hard rock sound of both Catholic/Christian rock-praise music and music to edify and motivate, and features catchy power-pop melodies over top hard-driving guitars.

Katholicus has greatly improved its sound and production with the release of their second CD, Upon This Rock. This CD provides 12 hard rockin' songs of more than 65 minutes of music. If you like the melodic hard rock sounds of the 80s, 90s and today, with lyrics that are good for the soul, then you'll like "Upon This Rock" by Katholicus.

This latest CD by Katholicus features plenty of blazing guitar solos and melodic double guitar leads and includes two full-length instrumental songs ("Guitar Praise, Part I" and "The Struggle, Part I") and a beautiful acoustic guitar solo as an introduction to the epic song -"The Cross of Christ."

Our first single from this CD, "Dona Nobis Pacem" (pre-released before the CD) is already making waves on the internet and has been down-loaded hundreds of times within three weeks of its release. That song and "Guitar Praise" also have recently been featured on the award winning Catholic Rockers podcast.

Adam Miller, songwriter and lead guitarist for Katholicus, has over the years performed and recorded from the Atlantic coast to the Rocky Mountains. The songs and guitar playing on "Upon This Rock" demonstrate his professionalism and years of experience.

    Every song on this CD is unique and I found myself singing along with the chorus halfway through each song. The songs have wholesome lyrics with catchy melodies that are easy to remember. There is also some awesome guitar playing mixed with a softer side creating a unique sound. All-in-all this CD is the first of its kind and is a must-have for any Christian music or rock-n-roll fan!
