Kate Morrissey had recently moved to Pennsylvania from Wisconsin to study when she released this disc. Prior to moving there, she spent a good deal of her free time wandering with her piano through most of the Midwest, from Colorado to the Dakotas (the southern of which is her family's home) to Wisconsin to Illinois, peddling her repertoire of lyrical tunes. Her music has been described as "urban fables and fairy tales."
"An Open Eye" is a walk through the world with a Kate's-eye view. Give it a listen.

Delightful Debut
