Fresh from her stunning Carnegie Hall Debut of “The Age of Romance," actress/singer Karyn Levitt brings us this CD of highlights from her show. Ms Levitt designed the show as a joyful tribute to the music of Ms. Levitt’s fourth cousin, Sigmund Romberg, as well as other masters of operetta and Broadway, including Strauss, Lehar, Herbert, Kern, and Forrest and Wright. Hailed as “a unique interpreter of musical theatre repertoire” (Boston Singers Resource) and "the best singer of Shakespeare since Cleo Lane," (Emeritus Professor David Young, Oberlin College), Ms. Levitt is accompanied on this CD by classical pianist and big band leader Tom LaMark. Ms Levitt and LaMark, along with dancer/actor Jimmy Moon, are now touring with “The Age of Romance” -- a ninety-minute antidote to cynicism built around laughter, passion, and dance, as it explores the romantic sensibilities of true love, honor, commitment, and following one’s dream.
