KARL RUCH is a singer-songwriter from Asheville, NC whose pop-folk songs are influenced by the likes of David Gray, John Mayer, and David Wilcox. He has played for over 10,000 people throughout the U.S. and has shared the stage with contemporary folk icons such as Pierce Pettis, Chris Rosser, Josh Lamkin, Johnsmith, Ginny Owens, and Tom Kimmel.

"a long time coming" is Karl's first studio album, recorded at Jane's Place Studios and produced by Eric Darken, was released in September 2000.

"...Looking back over these songs, I realize that they are each a "snapshot" of the way I felt or thought at some moment in time, a picture that I can now take out and relive - the beginning of a dream coming true, the keeping of promises despite an empty heart, the joy of unexpected change, the helplessness of being human, the fear of where faith will lead, the coming of light into our world, the longing for home, the pain of leaving a place or person we love, the thrill of every day, and the ever-presence of God in our lives..."
