notes
Justin has been playing guitar for 15 years, mixing his early interest in vintage country blues with everything that came after and recording it in shacks, barns, or the front seat of his car, giving way to 2 records of intimate & infectious songs from the hills of lesser appalachia.
"Thoughtful, introspective, musically infectious and, at its best, flat-out brilliant...Travelers Rest is one of the best albums of its kind to come along in recent years. It's all the evidence needed to establish Justin Gordon as, not only an underrated songwriter, but among the region's best."

songwriter
author: Paul YuelligI bought TEN DOLLAR GUITAR from cdbaby and may buy this one, if I can get the money up. I love Justin's originality, both in his lyrics and in his use of harmonies, as on Holocaust Girl. Also, he writes about elementary/inanimate things like gasoline and firewood. You're not going to get that from the labels, I don't think. That's why I love this website...no more take it or leave it.

author: Paul YuelligI bought TEN DOLLAR GUITAR from cdbaby and still love playing it all the time. This cd is really good, too...maybe even better. Justin's clever and soulful and a good composer on his guitar pieces. Why don't more artists get it going and record their songs...now that there are sites like cdbaby to put them on? I bet there are some masterpieces still out there...or at least really nice stuff like Justin Gordon's songs.
