notes

Junkyard Saints is a DC/Baltimore-based seven-piece full horn band that plays New Orleans-style party music -- blending funk, swing, Latin, R&B, and some old school zydeco to round out the mix. We have an accordion and we're not afraid to use it.

With regular college and independent radio airplay across the country, Junkyard Saints have played at some of the most notable venues and festivals in the country including the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and Pier Six, Ft. Lauderdale Cajun Crawfish Festival, Ft. Lauderdale Riverwalk Blues Festival, Bethlehem’s Musikfest, First Night, Iota, The 8x10 Club, and at private events for corporate and entertainment clients such as HBO, John Waters, Crayola, and Northrop-Grumman.

Their 2001 release -- Jes Like Your Mama Told You -- was received with great critical acclaim. E! Entertainment Television's Ted Casablanca called them "Baltimore's cherished Junkyard Saints" and reviewers across the country fall in love with this band every time they hear them play.

Junkyard Saints are absolutely amazing. You can't listen to their music and not dance and be happy. I love the whole cd! I looked at the tracks and tried to pick a favorite but couldn't! My husband and I absolutely LOVE them!

  • Chicken-Legged Goodness

One of my local radio stations here in Baltimore kept playing tracks from this CD so I had to get it. The best tunes are Chicken-Leg Girl, Christmas is Everyday, and a great cover of Sting's "So Lonely." I wish I could give it more than five stars -- it's that good.
