***JunkFood has just been voted "Best Local Band" in The Washington Post 2005 Readers Guide, beating out bands like O.A.R., Virginia Coalition, Eddie From Ohio, and Lloyd Dobler Effect among others!***
Do you remember when rock and roll was fun? JunkFood certainly does, serving up big, unapologetic rock tunes with loud guitars and sing-along hooks so huge you could hang a side of beef on them.
JunkFood is a Northern VA based rock band. Their debut album, "NO SPACE", produced by local genius TODD WRIGHT (Excentrics, Getaway Car) and mixed by DREW MAZUREK (Linkin Park, Nothingface) was released in December 2003. Radio-ready songs like "Who's Your Enemy" and "Nevermind" hit right between the eyes while "Better" and "Perfume and Vodka" slow it down a bit without sacrificing credibility.
JunkFood regularly performs for a broad range of fans in a wide range of venues up and down the East coast. From rowdy college bars, to summer beach vacationers, to family friendly festival crowds - JunkFood has entertained them all. Although primarily known for original music, JunkFood is not afraid to play your favorite covers from the 80's to today. As their many fans will attest, JunkFood subscribes to the old school tradition that no matter how much you enjoy the cd, you've really got to experience the band live to fully appreciate their talent.
All the members are road-tested and experienced live performers having collectively shared the stage with the likes of FUEL, VERTICAL HORIZON, PAT MCGEE BAND, EVERCLEAR, UNCLE KRACKER, TOAD THE WET SPROCKET, THE PRESIDENTS OF THE USA, and JIMMIE'S CHICKEN SHACK, just to name a few.
Their musical travels have taken them all over the country, playing on stages from New York City to Los Angeles, and from Cleveland to Houston. JunkFood's live show is a high-energy party, making them one of the most sought after bands in the DC/Metro Area. The buzz they have generated has them headlining the major venues in the region.
Since being voted "BEST COVER BAND IN THE DC AREA" by On Tap Magazine in March 2003, JunkFood has performed in front of thousands of fans at high profile events such as HiBall Events Mid-Atlantic Shamrock Festival, Celebrate Fairfax Festival, HiBall Events Blocktoberfest Starboard Stage. In 2005 the band was asked to return to showcase at the Dewey Beach Pop Festival with 60 bands on 7 stages.
JunkFood has been the "Featured Indie Artist of the Week" on XM Radio and rocked the airwaves as multiple songs from "No Space" have played on local radio stations including 96Rock in DE, Z104 and DC101 in DC, and the legendary 99.1 WHFS in Baltimore.

Outstanding
author: Randy DeasyHeard you for the 1st time at the fairfax festival and loved your music! (way better than the headliner). There isn't much out there that makes me want to run out and buy it but I had to have these. Bought this CD and another for ourselves and my nephew who is a DJ up in Rhode Island. He loved it too. Keep making the great music and thanks! Randy
Worth it at any price
author: DeenaNext To You is one of my favorites... but then so is Perfume and Vodka... Hard to pick, really. If you like rock, this is for you... reminiscent of when rock was fun to listen to... turns of phrases that catch your ear.... music that you just can't stop listening to, even when you aren't playing the CD, you hear it in your head and catch yourself singing it. Good stuff.

author: GloriaI have many copies of this CD. I purchased 5 more so I could help JUNKFOOD be a part of the help for the Hurricane Ophelia victims. I think it is a wonderful thing that JUNKFOOD is giving their profits from the sale of this CD in the month of September for the needy in the Gulf Coast region. Keep up the great work guys. Good Luck with the Band. I am happy that you were voted BEST LOCAL BAND...... Keep it up and enjoy.... Anyone reading this, please buy a couple or two to help out. Let's do all we can to help. Also, you will be listening to some great music when your CD comes to you. Buy some copies now, before September slips away.
Never Expected
author: VickiThis CD is off the hook! I happened upon a show and grabbed up a CD. I haven't stopped listening since! Drive to it, work to it, or just rock out! And as awesome as the CD is it does them no justice. You MUST see JunkFood in person. They have so much fun you can't help but get into the music. They make everyone they meet feel like an old friend. I never expected all this when I walked into a small town bar last week.

author: IrisI went to see this band play at a bar this past weekend and I absolutely love them. They have a very fun stage show and listening to this CD is just as fun as listening to the band live. Great lyrics and awesome beats just make me want to jump up and down every time I listen to it. I’ve got it on my iPod, my computer, and in the CD player of my truck. I can’t stop listening to it! JunkFood is quickly becoming one of my favorite bands. I HIGHLY recommend this album!!!!

Great vocals, strong rhythm section, and awesome lyrics!
author: DanIf you want good ol' fashioned ROCK, then this is the album for you! These guys have great stage presence, an excellent singer, and a rhythm section that is unstoppable. The melodies are crafty and unique. The guitars compliment each other VERY WELL, and the overall craftsmanship is reminiscent of ::TRUE:: rock...back when bands actually had musical talent, and more than ONE radio hit on an album. This CD is filled with hits, and when you get to the last track, you'll be scrolling back to the first track to listen to it all over again. EXCELLENT work JunkFood.
Where's the next cd?
author: Molly RingwaldWhat can I say...JF ROCKS! I am waiting anxiously for their second cd and I still can't get enough of the first. After it's debut late last year, it was in my car for a good few months. I must have played it over a million times! Not only is their music absoultely fantastic, but they're all a bunch of real and down to earth dudes. I miss watching them kick it live. No matter where they play, the place is always boomin'. Go and check them out at least one time. I guarantee you'll be back for more! Oh, and don't leave your beer behind! Over and out...Molly.

Cant seem to listen to any other CD. I find myself listening to this at home,in the car and singing the words while at work. Very addicting lyrics. Just a damn good CD. Have about 10 or 12 and still passing them out to people. And for the people that havent gone to see you or heard this CD they now want to come see you guys. Love the CD love the band!
I am A Junkoholic
author: RayI have been watching these guys troll around Northern Virginia and Suburban Maryland for about 2 years now, and they are amazing. Every song on the album, deserves to be heard, hard crunching rythm section with fantastic musicianship on guitars and insightful, often hilarious lyrics abound. CD is great buy it and check them out live there are loads of fun, grab a girl grab a beer and enjoy Das Fud!
Buy the CD and you will be pleased.
author: GloriaI have been a music lover all my life. This CD is as good as any you will listen to these days. The vocals are great, the music is great. You can feel this band's energy and dedication as you listen. I have seen them live and totally enjoy them. The crowd is easily involved as the band performs. Go out and see them if you can. You will be impressed, as I am. Enjoy and buy the CD.
No Space Shows No Fear
author: WillieTodd Wright splashes magic all over this one as a producer with a knack for polishing good tunes. A solid album with straight forward compositions and a catchy vibe, but it's "Who's Your Enemy?" and "Next To You" that really stand out. I give it the patented "three micstands out of five". Kudos boyz, you could be moving into a new level.
JunkFood - Bet you can't listen to just one!
author: Susan C.It's JunkFood... and who doesn't love a good helping of the stuff?!?! From the moment you push play, this CD will NOT stop spinning until it gets to the end (and even then you'll hit PLAY again!) Forget about the >> or
Every Song Lands On This Disc For a Reason
author: Matt AtkinsonIn an industry predicated on endlessly copying the trend of the day, new sounds have become harder to find. Look no further than the area that brought you acts like Vertical Horizon, O.A.R., and Jimmy's Chicken Shack, because JunkFood will shake up more than you might think. Despite some obstacles to overcome (lineup shifting, a touring producer, and one surgery), JunkFood delivers their debut album at the perfect time, bringing together the right sounds, lyrics and energy. In contrast to the endless pseudo-punk and deliberately soul-less music out today, No Space has plenty of qualities that fly in the face of convention. Songs like "Perfume & Vodka" tell stories too ridiculous to be made up, with clever lyrics and catchy hooks. Songs like "Better" slow things down a bit, but fit the progression of the album, and have the perfect amount of soul and depth. If any one thing sets JunkFood apart, it's their dedication to a quality product. Not satisfied releasing covers (which they can also play) or putting out too many (or too few) songs just to have a CD out means every song lands on this disc for a reason. This is no trend-jumping bunch, and the folks associated with the album (Todd Wright and Drew Mazurek) knew a good thing when they heard it. Their contributions have culminated in one of the best new releases by a local group in recent memory.
First-rate Album!
author: Manish PatelIt's hard to believe that "No Space" is JunkFood's debut album. This CD is nothing short of superb. You can tell right away that JunkFood spent a significant amount of time developing each track and fine tuning it to perfection. Sounds like the band's been making tunes for several years. Listen to the CD once and you're hooked. If you're in the DC metro area, seize the opportunity to see this band live before they get to big. At the least, do yourself a favor and listen to the entire CD once...
