notes
What the PRESS is saying about THE JULEPS:
"Members of two of Chicago's most popular rock bands have morphed to create The Juleps, a maverick country band that sings about Marie's Riptide Lounge, faded love and casinos in Reno..."With a roll of the dice." An apparent lack of agenda is what makes this band so appealing, while their mutual respect and laid-back attitude yields a cool, smooth product..." Chicago Sun-Times
"When The Juleps harmonize, it's like Steve Earl and EmmyLou Harris ripping it up!"
"Wild Beautiful Thing" and "Can't Back It Up" are nothing short of fabulous." The MP3 Files
"The members of The Juleps have brought the high energy and rhythms of their primary rock and roll gigs, infused them with a little twang and a touch of blues, and then added some well-crafted lyrics, resulting in a tasty musical stew..." Al Kunz -- Rockzillaworld

A superb country inspired album.
author: Blues BunnyThis is the original incarnation of the Juleps featuring Cathy Richardson sharing the vocals with Gary Yerkins. “Another Riversong” is a truly outstanding ballad and “Berwyn” is a superb up tempo number. However personal favourite is the storming country rock of “Marie’s Riptide Lounge”. In our less than humble opinion Gary Yerkins is a much under rated songwriter, and there are some great songs here that make this an album worth tracking down while you can.

author: NigelOut of all the artists that i've bought from CDBaby, this disc tops the lot. If your scene is country-rock / alt country etc etc (whatever name they come up with next), i promise you, you most definately won't regret this one.
Not a country fan, BUT this is good music.
author: JudyI am not the country music lover in our family, but I bought this for husband and found that I really LIKED it. The group has an accomplished sound and I enjoyed hearing songs with lyrics other than "the usual". I think the CD is well worth the price.
