notes
Tranzmutation is the latest evolution across the sonic universe of Juggling Suns.
Featuring Mark Diomede: Guitar/Vox, Gus Vigo: Keys/Vox, Ken E.
Kruise: Bass/Vox, Tim Morris: Rhythm guitar/vox, and Andrew Lenaghan: Drums, Juggling Suns’ unique style of cosmic dance music has been astounding audiences from New Jersey to Japan for several years and the band is well poised to make their cosmic contribution to the ever evolving jam band scene.
Point Pleasant, NJ based Juggling Suns was initially discovered by Johnny Z, the legendary A&R guru/indie mogul who signed Metallica, Kings X, the Disco Biscuits and Warren Haynes among others. His NJ based label Megaforce was among the most successful independent labels ever, and while Johnny Z will have eternal bragging rights for bringing the world Juggling Suns, Asbury Park based AERIA Records is equally proud to bring them back. “AERIA Records is profoundly delighted to support the latest chapter of Juggling Suns long strange trip and prodigious musical career” says AERIA Records CEO Coleman R. Brice.
The group’s roots extend back to the legendary N.J. band Solar
Circus. Originating as a Grateful Dead cover band, the group evolved into without question, the most sought after original band along the Jersey Shore. Over the years, the band released five albums internationally, were featured on several compilations, and toured nationally – sharing the stage with everyone from Tom Constanten, The Radiators, Widespread Panic, Hot Tuna and Bruce Springsteen (on the actual day Jerry Garcia died), among many others.
The band has also appeared in the feature film "Runaway Bride"
featuring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. Juggling Suns has also been featured in the New York Times.
Currently the band is engaged in an extensive Summer/Fall 2006 club, amphitheatre, and festival Tour. Check them out live!

Great CD - it blew me away
author: rogerExcellent musicians. Crazy blend of soaring guitar work mixed with an electronic edge. When I first listened to the song Droplets, I thought my speakers were popping/going bad until I realized that was cleaverly placed synth music. Great CD, I highly recommend it.
Psychedelic Jams !!!

Two Words: Psych. Rock!
author: JimmySince about 1997 I've been steadily orbiting around the Juggling Suns. Many things can be said about the Suns but nothing will ever describe the chaotic musical clarity that comes from the group. Their influences run deep; Their instruments are pushed over the edge of their limits on each performance; and their live shows are galactically intense. Tranzmutation captures the essential concert energy that the band provides so graciously at every show. This album is one-of-a-kind for the Suns. It adds another element of gravity to the group, which only to holds them in rotation for their cosmic journey. Check this CD out, you will not regret it!! Thanks CD BABY!
Awesome CD every tune a great one
author: KOichiGreat to listen to while at work. Makes the day fly by. Good to listen to in the car as well. Will look for more from this group.
"about jamming and letting the music carry you to where you need to be"
author: John BookJuggling Suns are all about jamming and letting the music carry you to where you need to be. I'm a huge fan of jam bands, although I should say that these guys are very capable of recording songs that are short and concise, if need be. On Tranzmutation (Aeria), they allow themselves to explore the beauty of the songs, and appropriately in a live setting as all of these songs were recorded in various nightclubs in New Jersey. It's hard to make comparisons without being too stereotypical, but Phish fans will definitely appreciate this, especially the guitar work of vocalist Mark Diomede. The solos are great, and that should give people in the crowd (or in your living space) time to dance and groove. There's also some country ("The Ringing") and some light disco ("Droplets"). The two songs I enjoyed the most are ones that are over ten minutes long, "Roadie's Revenge" (clocking in at 11:57) and "Swamp Gas Revisited" (10:56). Juggling Suns are mellow, no hard rock or distortion of any kind, and that should appeal to those who may love improvisational music but not to the point of going over the edge.
I am pleased to say I LOVE the CD
author: Bob MaddoxI heard the first song on Sirius Jam Station, and bought the CD based on that. I have listened to it 5 times now and love it. I hope they play near Iowa sometime soon.
Authenticity of the Dead, chops like Phish, and GROOVY baby!
author: Colie BriceA cosmic kaleidascope of infinitely profound sonic magnitude and soul shaking delight :) And that's just the first track! Tune in, turn on, drop what you're doing and get TRANZMUTATED..
40 plus minutes of continuous INSTRUMENTAL magic
author: C@zmikWe've got a winner here, folks! Juggling Suns, mainstays on the Northeastern jamband scene for years, have just been signed to a deal with Aeria Records, and by no means have they squandered the opportunity. On this outing, their best live performance CD yet, the Suns have interlocked a handful of moments within their sets where traditional song structure catapults into inspirational, mind-expanding jam, and they've created a whole much, much greater than the sum of its parts. Everything that makes this band special and unique is here to behold in bright, impressionistic colors (Kudos to the person(s) who came up with the title "Tranzmutation," as it's perfectly stated.): the killer, funky rhythm section of Ken Kruise (bass) and Andrew Lenaghan (drums), along with underrated rhythm guitarist, Tim Morris, create a solid, yet flexible foundation for Mark Diomede's lead guitar virtuosity and Gus Vigo's keyboard watercolors. The listener is treated to 40 plus minutes of continuous INSTRUMENTAL magic sandwiched between (think the white, creamy center of an Oreo cookie) rock-solid, shorter (by Juggling standards anyway) songs, with a couple surprises thrown in for good measure.
