notes
Jorges is the work of one person: Jorge G. Graupera. This collection of music entitled "Possibly Now!" was written, performed, recorded, and produced by Jorge.
1. The single "Girlfriend" has been featured in the WB primetime shows "One Tree Hill" and "Summerland" as well as a Macys back to school TV and radio spot.
2. Top 10 finalist in the Florida 2005 Grammy Showcase.
3. Voted Best Acoustic Artist 2006 by the Maimi New Times
4. Emerging Artist on the 2006 Virgin Mega College Tour featuring Yellowcard.
5. Bass player, songwriter and sometimes singer in Guajiro
He was a founding member of The Brand (He wrote, sang and playedguitar in the band from 2002-2004). Following that, he had a brief stint with LA based Warner Latin recording artists Volumen Cero as their touring guitar player.
It is the sum of those recent musical experiences and others before which have enriched his songwriting and made him an artist in his own right. Yet, the making of "Possibly Now!" is very different in many respects to those previous projects. Some of the drum tracks have been culled from sessions as old as four years ago and edited on a computer to fit the new song arrangements ("Just Like You", "Stars Are Exploding"). Similarly, the single "Girlfriend" follows this disjointed and inorganic pattern; the drums were recorded way after the original sessions for The Brand EP and later edited to meet a developing structure. Jorge tracked the bass, guitar and lead vocals over a cut and paste arrangement of Juan Ona's explosive and spastic drumming style.
"Agent" "Underwear" and "Get a Job", are the only compositions recorded in a traditionally linear approach with Fernando Sanchez providing the backbeat. The result is JORGES first solo release, "Possibly Now!" featuring 10 Rock gems that range from the undeniably catchy teenage-angst sound of "Girlfriend" to the larger-than-life cinematic sound of "Stars are Exploding". Possibly now engages the listener on different stylistic levels that bring to mind the harmonies of the Beatles, the vocal swagger of the Clash, the unrefined brilliance of the Replacements and the romanticism of Elliot Smith. JORGES
is the product of Rock 'n' Roll mythology, the reflection of a true Rock 'n' Roll dreamer.

Great Songs! Sharp hooks!
author: NottkerGood, Rockin', catchy kind of album. I had previously owned the first release of Jorges' Possibly Now. And since then I had found myself continuosly streaming the new material while at work, more than a little upset that I couldn't download the songs or have any way of playing them in my car. So when the CD was re-released, I picked up a copy right quick. If your into good ROCK songs, throwing interesting beats, extremly infectuous melodies, and well written thoughtful lrics, all wrapped up in nice tight 2 and 3 minute songs; this Album is for you. I'm telling you, this album is full of melodies you won't get out of your head once they sink in, and you'll find yourself or your friends saying, "I can't get that song out of my head!". Added into the album are a couple of techno-electronica kind of remixes of 2 of the hit songs on the album; they are great and throw the perfect curve ball to an otherwise band oriented performance. I listen to these over and over. oH AND SOME OF THE LYRICS! "nO i DON'T WANNA GROW UP, i'LL FIND A BANK TO HOLD UP". Awesome... Ironically, I get to sing that at the top of my lungs while driving to my everyday "make my boss rich" job. Oh to live vicariously. The album is full of these rebellious, pout filled, even sad folky kinds of words and emotions. The different styles and flavors in the album really paint quite the portrait of this Jorges', whose influences must be all over the board. I really need to see these songs performed live with a band. Tomorrow morning, I'll be listening to the show closer, Chiquita!
