notes

Joquan da Hooligan was born in Detroit Mi. A seventies baby, da Hooligan came up during the hip hop evolution. He started rapping at the early age of 9 and hasn't stopped since then. He's worked with Detroit's Most Wanted, Swift of D12, Los from the Raw Collection and DJ King David of the Mountain Climbaz. He's also an affiliate of NBG Records and Ova Ground Records with his cousin Fing-uh-mann, former member of the 90's Detroit hip hop sensation, the DBG'z. Hooligan has been on the streets of Detroit selling his independent cd's since the year 2000. He has cds sold in many parts of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Iowa, and Canada. Joquan is not just a "rapper". He's a lyricist, graphics artist, movie and video producer and one of Detroit's most slept on underground m.c.'s. Joquan made his underground film debut with the weedhead anthem, "the ghost of the alien weedhead". This movie is definitely an underground classic. Joquan's rap flows are not bling-bling or murda, murda, kill, kill. His flows are metaphoric, diverse, and hit the struggles of the urban cities on point. He can get political and get you on the floor all in one CD. He definitely sets no limits as to what he can create. If Joquan doesn't make it to the mainstream, it will definitely be a great loss on behalf of the commericialized music industry. To those who have purchased his cds or plan to purchase one in the near future will have made a very worthwhile investment.

  • U MUST COP THIS!!!!

The CD is HOTT!!!! Hoochie Mama Factory and Later Greater are worth the price alone. I met Joquan at the Coney on Davison and Linwood back in '04. I just wanted to support the brotha because he came off with respect like a honest man tryin to get his grind on. He showed me and my mans love with 2 for $10. Then my car got repo'ed and I thought the CD was lost forever. I'm gonna cop it again since it's here and IT IS DEFINATELY HOTT LIKE THAT!!

  • Hot Tracks important words. Dance, Build, Chill, Screw, Blaze

It was in the Main Library that I became aquainted with the Ghost of the Alien Weedhead. A powerful force that lurks in the basements and attics of cities like Detroit where great talent has yet to be attached to a commerical and force writers to write rhymes over other's tracks, because consumers don't listen to the words as much as the beat. However In the park under the Ambassador bridge because ghosts hate bridges and water and soap and things of that nature the saddness of Baby Momma Factory forces us to release the purplish blue haze and ourselves from the ride and forward away from the reality of urban life to the fantasy of urban life Get Blaze in the air Get Blaze in the parking lot and people start sparking up and the Cha Cha hustle reminds us of why we are here. To take a break from reality. Perhaps enjoy some head from a white girl in an all white thong. All night long Good stuff check out the Ghost of the Alien Weedhead video on Vidilife

  • Boy got skillz!!!!!

The lyrics is tight and it's hotter than any of the mainstream hip hop that's out now. It's not on that icy and pimpin' hoes type of flow. It's what hip hop is missing.
