Christmas music as you remember it.

notes

We are so thrilled to let you know that John spent the latter part of the summer recording his new Christmas CD, Simply Christmas. It has been 10 years since Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas was released, thank you to one and all that brought that album into your home.

It was with great care that John approached making a follow up Christmas album. He wanted to ensure that it had a feel as special as the first. This was accomplished by choosing more of your Christmas favourites and having special musicians come on board. Harpists Ardyth and Jennifer play on all the traditional carols, including Do You Hear What I Hear, Joy to the World, What Child is This, The First Noel, Huron Carol, When a Child is Born, Little Drummer Boy and O Little Town of Bethlehem and Ross Billard, Mike Cowie and Danny Sutherland join in on the contemporary Christmas selections like I’ll be Home for Christmas, The Santa Medley, and The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire).

Two very special selections are Night Watch, a beautiful lullaby that John would listen to as he and his family would leave the Drive In Theatre in Cape Breton when he was a little boy. For John this brings back some wonderful memories of a family that is no longer here with him.

A highlight for us is the duet performed by John and our 16 year old daughter Samantha. They chose the great winter song, Baby It’s Cold Outside but it has been rewritten to have a father/daughter slant. It is certainly a favourite amongst our close friends and family!!

The new album is called Simply Christmas because that is what it is. We love Christmas and we hope this new collection brings simple joy, love and hope to you and yours.
