    I am a HUGE Joe Purdy fan and listen to his music ALL THE TIME! With that being said, this is definitely his best album in my opinion. The songs will move you. Enough said.

    I discovered Joe Purdy through a few songs i'd heard here and there, which grew to a handful of five or six songs in my itunes playlists off of various albums, and finally i just hauled out and bought whole cds. 'Only Four Seasons' was one of the first ones i bought. With a sound that's a cross between Counting Crows and a little blue-grass folk vibe, Joe Purdy's music always makes me feel good. "The City", "Cinderella..." and "Why You" are my favorites off of this album :)

    This cd hasn't left my cd player since I got it. I have listened to "why do i" over and over. This is my 3rd Joe Purdy cd and I can't pick a favorite. They're all amazing!

    Leverage. That’s a current buzzword in corporate America. Apparently, it’s something that Joe Purdy has taken to heart also. Until recently, Purdy was a little-known musician. He grew up in Arkansas before moving to Los Angeles. While in LA, he leveraged his opportunities to interact with other singer-songwriters there. He leveraged access to a baby grand piano where he worked to teach himself how to play. After writing a song on the piano, he leveraged the realization that’s what he really wanted to do into a 10-track self-titled album in 2001. Later, Purdy leveraged a live performance at a small bar in Austin, Texas into a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music. His big break was having his song, “Wash Away” featured on the hit TV show “Lost”. Since then, he’s leveraged his music onto other TV shows like “Grey’s Anatomy”. And, he’s leveraged that exposure into a new CD, Only Four Seasons, released in early November. Only Four Seasons features 11 original tunes. On this album, Purdy joins with some solid session musicians to create something listenable. The tunes include “The City”, “Look at You Now”, and “Andrea”. Purdy’s piano playing is prominent. His song writing is solid. And, his world-weary vocal delivery offers a nice compliment to both the words and music. Like the subject in his song, “Look at You Now”, Purdy has achieved a significant breakthrough. What will he do to leverage this? Acting just like a seasoned corporate captain, Purdy has already taken advantage of this leverage point. He now has an even newer CD. Leveraging his newfound popularity, he just released, You Can Tell Georgia. If all this leveraging leads to success the way they teach it in business schools, you’ll be hearing a lot more from Joe Purdy in the future.

    Stumbling onto cdbaby through an artist with a totally different sound, and never having heard of Joe Purdy before, I actually purchased 'Only Four Seasons' on a whim after hearing a bit of ''The city'' while poking around on the website. I was happily shocked to find that I thoroughly enjoy every song on the cd, and I now look forward to adding earlier AND new CDs to my collection.

    I thought that I couldnt't hear anyone better for the foreable future apart from Gary Jules ...and he's so bloody inactive for the most part - well his website anyway - I was deffo pleased with this and Stomping Grounds which started like Counting Crowes but got much better...all the best!

    5 stars I'd save for something close to perfect, but this is a great album. They are heart-moving songs. After getting the album I couldn't help listening to it over and over. I instantly loved almost every song on the album - especially the first one.

    Relaxing. Apparently similar to many songwriters but really different, with a very personal style made of kind melodies, subtle arrangements and his deep and emotional voice. I'm surprised he's not very known (in Italy at least). I hope in a live Europe tour very soon!
