notes

Joel was born and raised in a small farming community in Central Pennsylvania. His love of music showed very early in life when he picked up his dad’s guitar and never put it down. Diversity is what best describes Joel. A fan of many types of music from jazz to rock, Hank Williams to Clapton, B.B. King to Alice in Chains, Haggard to the Doobie Brothers, Joel has intertwined all of these influences into his own sound. “Upside Down World”, although recorded in Nashville, is all Joel. The record features songs from the best writers in Nashville to include, Will Nance, Steve Dean, Rodney Clawson, D. Scott Miller, Wade Kirby, Tia Sillers, Mark Selby, Danny Orton, Jim Collins and many more. Joel also penned four tunes on “Upside Down World” and played four lead solos on the record. The best studio players in the world played on this record to include Chris Leuzinger-Guitars, J.T. Corenflos-Guitars, Mike Rojas-Keyboards, Mike Brignardello-Bass, Kenny Vaughn-Guitars, D. Scott Miller-Guitars/Mandolin, Mike Johnson-Steel, Greg Morrow-Drums, Wayne Killius-Drums and Derrick Wolford on Percussion. Russell Terrell and Perry Coleman followed up with background vocal duties. “Upside Down World” is a first rate professional production aimed at one thing, to compete with the big boys. The record was produced by D. Scott Miller and recorded at Legends Studio which produced many country hits from Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard to name a few! A mixture of honky tonk country, rock, a little blues and heart-wrenching ballads makes this record very pleasing to the ears and soul. Songs of hope, one more chance, sticking to your roots and how a man should treat a woman are welcome and refreshing. This guy lives music, he breaths music, he sleeps music,
