notes
"Fafard has begun to set himself apart from the legions of folksy Prairie singer-songwriters with the sort of instrumental prowess you'd expect from a fingerstyle deity. His style isn't overly busy, but there are moments of genius." Bartly Kives, Winnipeg Free Press
Fafard’s fiery blend of urban and rural slide finger-style guitar embodies such styles as blues, bluegrass, country, and Celtic. Fafard is about to release his latest effort ...and another thing... in January of 2006. His four previous albums have garnered both critical acclaim and diehard fans - with his most recent, the instrumental “Rocking Horse”, nominated for Outstanding Instrumental Recording at the WCMA's in 2004; it will be released in Europe in 2006 with a European tour to follow. Joël has showcased and performed at prestigious events across Canada, including an appearance with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and has opened for such artists as Joe Cocker and Burton Cummings. Joël was recently honoured with the inclusion of his tune “Megan and the Wascana Cyclone” in Mel Bay’s Master’s Anthology for Finger-Style Guitar Solos Vol. 3.

Rocking Horse
author: Lendrixgood home spun acoustic noodling that lives up to the song titles. great with a crisp mountain breeze and or a vintage norton.
Everyone should own this CD
author: Terry KaminskiJoel has created an entire CD of truly awesome music. when I played the CD for my friends and family that were visiting today they immediately asked "Who is playing the guitar on this CD?" I proudly said"Joel Fafard, a guy I used to run track with back in high school". Way to go Joel. I can hardly wait until you play your next gig in Edmonton. I plan to be there.
