Many people in the Christian music industry know that JOE HAND is an accomplished singer, songwriter, performer and producer(especially regarding his work with the Catholic market-where he is best known for co-writing the theme song to EWTN's LIFE ON THE ROCK). But what you may not know… is that this is a man dedicated to his faith… and the journey he’s been on, while growing in his personal relationship with God.

PSALMS, is an eclectic mix of musical styles but the common thread puts focus on scripture with each track labeled a specific Psalm which will (hopefully) encourage further reading of the Bible.

Reviews for PSALMS have been so encouraging from both liturgical professionals to fans seeking music as a devotional. Joe Hand hopes that PSALMS will be used for worship in churches around the world. In creating this project he used varous texts including the NIV, NRSV, ESV and The Ignatious Press Bible. He hopes his interpretation into music will inspire the listener to want to know and learn more.

Joe Hand has already had 2 tracks from this hit the Top 10 radio charts. Psalm 16 and Psalm 90 have been embraced not only by the Catholic market but by the Evangelical market as well.

    I've listened to Joe's CD so many times, that any other CD would have gotten on my nerves by now. But the Psalms CD is so tastefully produced, you just never get sick of it. The production of this CD is flawless. Also, the writing and arranging of the music is really well done. I could go on and on, but one example is Psalm 40, which builds to the end, and then he could have ended it, but then it comes around and ends with the "I waited patiently" line - not only is this great songwriting, but it creates an emotional response to the message as well. It's brilliant. Joe does a really amazing job of marrying the text to the music. It never seems forced or contrived. It's totally smooth. There's never a jarring moment on the whole CD, and overall the effect of the CD is just a really great balance of energy with the contemplative, yet without being overly simplistic in the arrangements. To say this is my favorite CD right now doesn't do it justice, because it only puts it in a category with other CDs that could be a favorite for a while but then get replaced by another. This CD will always be a favorite of mine.

    Would be happy to recommend this to anyone looking for a truly inspirational or devotional album. Joe's vocal talent is amazing on this project, but more so it is the creative way he took the book of Psalms and interpreted it into extraordinary songs that can clearly be used in any praise & worship or liturgical setting. Kudos to Joe Hand for such a fine project!
