notes
It was so much fun making our first Bebop for Babies recording that we needed to do it again. Here is more music for babies, big boys, big girls and grown ups. We weren’t sure whether to call it Bebop for Babies 2 or Bebop for Two Babies since this album is dedicated to our two big boys, JJ and Théo. And to Victor and Tania’s baby Roy!
Michel and I live in Montréal and so our boys speak and sing in French and English. I’ve sprinkled a little bit of French into this album, along with a light dusting of the language of my own babyhood, Dutch. And we’ve tossed in some bebop trumpet this time thanks to our guest Kevin Dean. May you swing and sing and dance along,
Jeannette
Biography
Jeannette Lambert has been singing professionally since she was twelve years old. She records and performs jazz and improvised music internationally. Her latest cd of creative music, Sand Underfoot with special guest Paul Bley, is described in the All-Music Guide as full of “delicateness, creativity and telepathic interaction.”
After a futile search for music that mixed the spontaneity of jazz sensibilities and great kids' songs, she came to the realization that she was going to have to do it herself. She enlisted the help of the band and her young sons JJ and Théo, and got to work. The level of musicianship is high and the songs are classics, performed with joy and respect.

My two-year-old son and I have been enjoying your CD very much. I've always loved jazz and it's fun to sing along with these traditional kids' songs with jazz arrangements. It's also nice to hear the other languages you included. Thanks for creating a beautiful album and we hope to hear you and your group sometime in person. Perhaps at the Rochester Jazz Festival in June!
