Jazz versions of Irving Berlin tunes

notes

Always, The Music of Irving Berlin is a CD of Berlin tunes featuring the lovely voice of Joni Janak, the drums and vocals of Ron Moewes, and the piano artistry of Ralph Sharon. Mr. Sharon was the piano accompanist for the legendary Tony Bennett for many years.

The album also features other instrumentalists on jazz solos.

The last song on the CD is an original by Ron Moewes, "A Mr.Sharon Tune" It was written for Ralph Sharon and tells the story of his musical career.

An outstanding collection of Irving Berlin compositions.Joni and Ralph and the band perform at peak level, creating fresh and very listenable versions of what are mostly familiar songs.

Ralph Sharon has long been one of my favorite pianists. His touch is unique, i.e. you hear two or three notes and you know it is Ralph Sharon. His performance on this album is outstanding. Likewise, Joni Janak's singing is superb. She is definitely one of the best jazz vocalists performing today. You can't go wrong buying this CD.

  • As Usual...fantastic work by all involved...Bravo

I was lucky enough to work with JONI years ago and have watched and listened to her bloom over the years and if anyone deserves to accompaniment of RALPH SHARON...it is JONI. And of course Ron has never done anything but great work and this CD is no exception. I am a friend and a great fan.....BRAVO to all....I have to admit...the WIND is my favorite cd also..:)

  • Good but not as good as The Wind
    author: Keith Sargent

I own all the CDs, and love The Wind the most. Arrangements on this one are not quite as good, and prefer solo arrangements.

A lovely tribute to the music of Irving Berlin by world class musicians. Every tune is a winner.
