(About MP3 downloads at CD Baby)

This album (acoustic/electric/hand-made instruments) is envisioned with a 60s & 70s concept of a 'new sound' of Folk/Pop/Americana music, when music mirrored the changing times & lyrics were soulfully crafted like Bob Dylan & The Beatles taught Jason.

notes

"Directions," by the Band, 'Greywolf,' is a 'new sound' in Folk/Pop/Americana music, using acoustic/electric/hand-made instruments, all totally real: homemade music spun by the rare talents of National & World fiddle champion Randy Elmore, the upside down/sideways electric lead guitar of Chris Thornberg, multi-instrumentalist Gary Mann, the late, great Henry Sapp, formerly of Willie Nelson's band, young drummer Aaron Brown and the
multi-instrumentalist/singer-songwriter/producer,
Jason Leigh.

This album has truth-telling, 'down-to-the-bone' lyrics, upbeat, leg-shaking music, blatantly honest ballads and 'anti-dishonest-politician' songs ;-) of OUR direly needed times. Greywolf's songs are the voice crying 'to' the wilderness!

We can't say that Jason Leigh 'sounds like,' anyone else, or that he has been more influenced by such and such. He *does* have his own writing style, which is in the truest sense of Folk-Rock/Americana music to be sure of, and he has loved almost 'all' of the music presented from Woody and Leadbelly, to Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, The Beatles and John Prine: they 'all' have made their impression. Jason hopes to make his impression upon you.

* Jason Leigh was Interviewed in 'Unsigned Magazine,' released April, 2005, issue #9, about his band, 'Greywolf,' the History of Folk/Americania music, and the making of the album, "Directions." * In 2006, Unsigned Magazine announced "DIRECTIONS" in the Top Twenty five of ALL Indie released albums! Read and or download (pdf)that interview, which is now archived! Go to link and at bottom on right hand-end, click on the worded 'search' and look under the April 2005 date and 'J' for Jason: http://unsignedmusicmag.com/archive.htm

* Jason 'Greywolf' Leigh is a cancer survivor and a medical marvel after five (5) spinal fusion operations with a puzzled-in spinal cord in which one doctor related, "He may never walk again." But Jason never learned to say 'Then, there is no hope?' What he mostly says as he stands tall when you meet him is, "Where there is life, there is HOPE."
